Today I didn't make any brand new offerings, bur rather finished up some W.I.P cars I had in the back lot.
2005 Joe Nemechek U.S. Army - Primary
Nemechek had a solid 2005 season, very similar to his 2004 campaign. While having one less pole, top 5, and lacking a win, Front Row Joe improved his AVG finish by almost a full spot, and his year end points standing by 3. This would be the last good season for Nemechek, as 2006 would see a huge downturn in the organizations performance, while mismanagement under Ginn would end his competitive days, spending the rest of his career as an also-ran.
2005 Eric McClure ARC Dehooker - Daytona
I've already partially touched on this story in the earlier Sacks and McClure posts, but in early 2005, Ed Raabe and Greg Sacks made the decision to split up, Raabe taking the Chevrolets the team had procured, and Sacks keeping the old Dodges. Eric McClure was hired on for ROTY honors, but the team missed Daytona and California. Despite this, fortunes seemed to take a turn at Vegas, where the #73 team made the show and ran a solid 32nd, but the week after, McClure was dropped and the team reduced schedule, only making one more attempt with Dan Pardus at the Pepsi 400 in July.
2005 Hermie Sadler OAK Gloves/American Red Cross - California 2
This was Hermie's ride at the Sony HD 500, where he started 43rd and finished 42nd, out with brake problems after 87 laps completed. Reference images for this car were impossible to find, with me using Splash & Go's rendition on the Cup_05 mod for reference. I have a few photos hanging around from when I was collecting them off RuRa, but with their image boards long gone, so went the best source of backmarker photos.
2005 Kasey Kahne Dodge Reverse Pit Cap - Indianapolis
In 2004 at Darlington, Kasey Kahne ran a paint scheme based on his pit cap. In 2005, he ran the reverse of said scheme at Indinapolis and the second Cali event. The Brickyard was one of the few good showings from the #9 crew, starting 4th, and leading late in the going, just to be overhauled by Tony Stewart for the victory on a late race restart. California was 2 for 2 on top 10 showings, with a less flashy, but still solid 6th place finish off of a 7th place grid spot.
