Meh - why not? Decided to take a moment and clean up the Superman graphic on Gordon's car by blowing it up huuuuuuuge and then tracing it to make a full 600dpi vector asset. For reference - the little image in the middle is the raster layer I used on the 2048x2048 car template for the game. Once that's all shaded and done I'll be able to resize it at will without losing any quality!

This is probably going to be appropriated for a custom 1/24th scale decal set at some point as well

Alright..... I am going to rant about this for 5 minutes....... then I'm done I SWEAR lol

I've been painting sim cars for the better part of 20 years and in all that time I always secretly dreaded doing Gordon's Dupont cars. No matter how perfectly I felt I depicted them something always just looked..... OFF and I could never for the life of me figure out what was causing me to feel like that. I mean, I did all of the photo research I could. Grabbed all of the correct logos straight from the companies themselves. But there was still that unease.....

WELL NOW I KNOW WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!

They used a G-Damn completely unique Dupont logo on the Motorsports side of things that is sooooo close to the Commercially used logo that I never registered the difference until today. EFF ME. Why on earth would Dupont DO that?!?!?!?

The Dupont logo that was used for EVERYTHING prior to the change to Axalta has 'DUPONT' inside the blue oval with all of the letters having a slight fisheye effect to match the curve of the oval.

The Dupont logo EXCLUSIVE to motorsports has SOME of the letters with this fisheye perspective BUT for some God forsaken reason then chose to the leave the 'U' 'P' and 'O' completely squared up without the fisheye perspective......

WHAT. THE. HELL. DUPONT.

You've subliminally screwed with my head since the 90s with this! Oh, but I'm on to your tricks now! NEVER AGAIN! lol

Yep, I can send you mine if you want them. I spent about three days just on the logos alone. Also, look at how the dang paint is a different shade in every photo lol

I feel ya. I have always struggled with Dupont cars too. Even the easier Ricky Craven BGN ones.
And as a side note I agree on the damn red/pink/dayglo whattheeffever the main color is. Let alone the blue in the middle that keeps changing.

One of the few cars I always just kinda went "Eh close enough"

Huh, I never knew that. I notice too that even thought the D has the fisheye effect on the motorsports logo, it is slightly less dramatic than the commercial one. Like they only distorted it 30% instead of 50% or something.

Also I think even though the top bar on the "T" is slanted, I don't think it has the fisheye curve to it.

If you don't go the full driver option, do the helmet to put on the roof.
Good idea! I was waffling a little bit about putting this much work into the driver only to have them barely seen inside the car. So the helmet on the roof thing might be a cool option. Either that or do the full driver and just have them mounted in the case outside the car.......

I know FB has Diecast graveyard groups with spares etc for custom builders or replacement parts.

Maybe a Lionel Racing 1/24 cloth net kicking about?
