Richard is good to go. This particular version replicates one of the Martinsville races. I did leave the slogan off the Motorsports Designs logo because it just looks like a crappy mess and did nothing to add to the car. Plus it's small, so, whatever.

Time to consult the @Sim1Ghila spreadsheet and see who's next!

Ooook so, we will start with an easy one-off entry for the 44 cars!

Firstly, we will go with Jeff Davis, who made his NASCAR Winston Cup Series debut at Phoenix fall race, his only second time on a stock car, driving a Ford Thunderbird purchased from Jack Roush. He started 39th out of 42 drivers in the field, for a total of 44 drivers who attempted to qualify. He finished in 26th place, 13 laps down from the winner Davey Allison. Jeff Davis will go on to make 11 attempted starts in NASCAR Winston Cup Series from 1992 to 1999, qualifying only 3 times (at Phoenix and twice at Sonoma in 1994 and 1997, crashing out of the race both times. So his Cup Series debut in 1992 was his best race).

He tried to qualify twice for the Brickyard 400 in 1994 and 1999 (his last attempt), but he failed to accomplish that both times, as it happened in 1993 at Michigan (twice), Watkins Glen, Phoenix, and in 1997 at Sonoma.

Luckily for us, one of the members here (nascarnut55) made already a paintscheme for this particular car. So if he knows something more about the details of this paintscheme, it will be highly appreciated.

The second 44 car I think that it will be a bit more complicated to recreate. But still, we have a picture of it apparently, and it's the first Buick of the carset! Here's Jack Sellers, who competed at Sonoma, starting dead last in 43rd place and retiring with transmission problems on lap 48, after doing some run-offs in the gravel while getting lapped very early. Apparently sponsored by Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer, in that season this was one of the last 6 times that NASCAR Winston Cup Series saw a Buick in the starting field. I'm gonna add a few more screenshots down below

The round logo just below the quarter windows on both the #44's is a variation on this Dad's bottle cap logo - On Jeff's car it looks like it has the full Dad's Old Fashioned Root Beer text in the yellow portion of the logo. Whereas on Seller's car just Dad's is in the yellow and the text above and below looks like "Have a....." "......Tastes like root beer should"

The clear photo of Sellers car isn't from the Sonoma race, but a different Winston West event. It is from the correct year, though. So it won't vary enough to matter, but that's why it's on Hoosiers.

Does this means that you have found some unknown pictures available of it?
I have a few harder to find ones, yeah. But, I'm waiting on some photos from someone who raced his 2nd car and took a bunch of photos from the year (Chuck Welch). I'll prob. have to remind him, though. lol.

Alright, here are the 4 photos I have to work with (click on them if you'd like to see them larger). The photo of the side of the car is basically identical to when it raced in 1992 at Sonoma. The other 3 are all from 1991. I learned a lot from my friend Al about Sellers. He worked with him for years. Apparently the reason this guy was sponsored by Coke (and other just mish mashed soda sponsors) is because he was born into it. His family owned West Coast Coca Cola distributorship, so he was filthy rich. But, he stayed out of the business and just went out racing for funzies. He was also a "farmer". lol. Apparently he allowed his goats and animals into his house where they had full use of the leather couches and everything. I have yet to send Al a photo pointing out the sponsors I'm trying to identify from the 1992 photo, so he might know them. But I've been down this road with others before. Folks just don't remember some of this small stuff from over 30 years ago. Which is fair. I wouldn't either. None of us would, really. lol. So I'm posting this here & on my discord to see if anyone has any ideas. A few are obvious. A few aren't. I think the rear quarter would be sheer guessing. Hopefully Al or Chuck might recognize it. It's ridiculous a car that ran one race takes this kind of research but....if we get it it will be a hell of a get. lol.

Anyways, either way, this car is dramatically slowing down the progress and it's hard to justify the time. BUT HERE WE ARE.

Alright, I'm calling this Jeff Sellers car done for now or this thing is going to eat up another weeks worth of time. There are 2 stickers missing on the quarter that I can (mostly) confirm were on the car for Sonoma. I am waiting for my friend Al to get back home from visiting with Chuck Welch (who drove Jack Sellers 2nd car for years). Oddly enough, while doing this car, Al was practically walking out the door to fly from Wisconsin to California to hang out with Chuck. lol.

Anyways, Al is probably the best chance at identifying those last 2 stickers. If he can't, the car will remain in this form, which is plenty good enough in the long run. Time to move onto Ed Ferree & Rich Bickle (another WI area driver!)
