Alright, all three A.J. Foyt cars have been completed. All photos can be clicked on to expand in size.

A.J. Foyt qualified in with the car on the left on speed alone. Unfortunately, he then crashed that car in practice. A.J. did not have a back-up car. Thanks to a deal related to Copenhagen/Skoal, he was able to use the back-up car for Rick Mast's #1 car, owned by Richard Jackson/Precision Products Racing. 4 laps into his Twin 125 race he was collected in a crash that started with Alan Kulwicki getting spun just past the exit of turn 4. Foyt then was able to come to an agreement with Don Bierschwale/B&B Racing to drive the Eddie Bierschwale #23 car, which did not qualify for the 500. Three cars. Three teams. One race. This is how things went for A.J. Foyt's final Daytona 500 run. Foyt started the race in 39th, finishing 21st.

This is Dave Mader III's entry for the 1992 Daytona 500. This was the second car to show up to Daytona with the #13. This one was fielded by Seal-Tech Motorsports/Clint Folsom. Mader needed to make it in through his Twin 125 race, as they did not have the speed to lock themselves in during qualifying. Unfortunately, he ended up crashing in qualifying race #1 only 4 laps in, resulting in missing the Daytona 500. This would also be the same crash that took out A.J. Foyt's second of three cars.

I have never seen this car before!

Bask in its glory! lol. I had never seen it before, either. It's great having these photographers of the era sharing their stuff for us on Facebook and other places. There is one decal I left off on the quarter. With it being a DNQ car I just didn't feel like it was a good use of time to go hunting for one decal. I also forgot to put the triangle for the jack post location in the photos, but it's actually on the car in the game. I put it on after taking the photos and realizing I had forgotten it. Dang amateur. lol

I presume had both #13 cars made the race, one would have been forced to swap numbers.

Would it have been the higher starter ala Winston West companion races, or owners points.

As I understood it, in a case like this, whomever registers first gets the number in the event both qualify. But, during just practice/qualifying & the Twin 125's, Skinner & Mader would have been listed as #13 & #113 officially.

One of these days, either me or someone else really ought to work on the side window configurations of these cars. Look at the difference between the Cup90 template window and the actual photo of the car. I messed with it a little bit for the 94 set but there's a lot of variations from team to team. Also would be fun to create a mip patch to the mod to add in the deck lid braces.
Car looks great man. Love the gold in the numbers especially. That's a color that can be a tad bit tricky to get just right in game. In fact I think you made the car look better than the real one.

Anyone recognize that logo? It wasn't on the car all year, so I could skip it and use a different variation I already have available. But... I still want to know what this damn sticker is! lol Looks like an 'M' on the left side. No idea the rest.

there is a video on youtube, showing sterling marlin's kodak car and just how aero those window openings actually were. sterling said he had a hard time getting in and out of the car it was so tight.

Yeah a lot of them did have different openings and different vent configurations. I haven't checked the Pontiacs but I know Chevy and Ford both had variations.

While it looks similar, it's not a Pontiac window. Some Chevy teams during that time/era ran a different style window.

Still feels weird seeing early 90s pictures of Marcis' cars when he was sponsored by Big Apple.

Waynesboro, PA is 10 minutes from my house across the PA State Line and if you knew the area you too would wonder how the ever-lovin'-eff a business from there ended up on a NASCAR Cup ride.

If I recall correctly from doing my '97 carset - George and Sons Transportation was an associate for him as well in the 90s..... they are in Waynesboro as well.
