Got a feeler out, but figured I'd throw these up here, too. Anyone happened to recogize the contig that's under the number? Additionally, the larger fuzzy photo suggests there's a sponsor on the trunk. It looks like a checkered pattern, but doesn't look to be the same sponsor as on the hood (which is Star Race Computers). Any thoughts at all?

Hershel McGriff complete! I was awaiting for extra details from Hershel's son. If he ends up yielding results for what's on the trunk, we'll stick it on there in the future. Otherwise, this is the best we can ask for with the images available. Time to move onto the next.

Ok so... Number 51 this time! The first of the two entries that drove with this number in 1992 was Jeff Purvis for Phoenix Racing, who started with a Chevrolet at Michigan International Speedway (27th) and Phoenix (DNF, brakes)

The other n.51 entry was Rick Scribner who started (surprise surprise) at Sonoma (36th) and Phoenix! In fact, in the second start at Phoenix he competed with the number 61 (DNF, engine). He managed to qualify for a Winston Cup event only in these two races.

Funny how a simple paint scheme like this you would think, that Is easy only take a small amount of time. But, the work put into this is always more than you think. Great Work Bill! :)

Tiz true! And naturally you know that with all you've done over the years. For the most part, I draw everything fresh that's on each car, rather than using things from around the net. Having the layers/vectors available is almost a requirement for trying to get things to feel as accurate/genuine as possible. Shortcuts may not appear obvious, but too many of them can make something that looks right, feel less genuine. At least that's how I've always felt about it. Whether that be in iRacing, NR2003, and in diecasting, too.

I have appreciated all the support as we all kinda go through this thing as a crew.

Had a busy week! Monday I had to celebrate the first day of Oberon, of course (my favorite wheat ale from Bell's Brewery, it's seasonal). Tuesday band rehearsal. Wednesday we performed. Thursday I was dead to the world as my body reminded me I'm in my 40's. lol. Friday, built a new PC! Anyways, I'll be back to these cars here just as soon as I get Photoshop/Illustrator installed and ready to go. Happy weekend, y'all.

Awesome job. And yeah I'm sure it will be a relief once you have the #52 and #71 cars done as Means and Marcis seemed to have quite the array of sponsors that year. But you did James Hylton cars already, so now you can do anything, right? Lol

Next! Jimmy Means car actually driven by Jimmy this time. Not for long though. Car blew up pretty fast. This car is as it was driven at the first Richmond weekend. These cars are pains in the ass. Barely any photos of these one off sponsors. In some cases, liberties need to be taken. The hood sponsor on this one is a case of that. I opted to not try to duplicate the font outside of getting the style. I could modify the font a bit to account for some of the tails spanning off a few letters. But, in the case of something like this, I think we can call it good.

I am uncertain what exactly Funshine RV Center was, but Ken Squire mentions as the car is blowing up that he believes the Statler Bros. had something to do with sponsoring the car. Was he talking about the band? Or something else? I am also unsure. Anyways, 987127892186 Jimmy Means cars to go.

I just realized this car has a silver valence. I'll fix that. Shut up. :nerd:
