Roof cam for me. I do my races like the onboard camera recordings. Then during pace laps/cautions/end of race I do far chase view. In the middle of the race I might switch to cockpit for a few laps like its the broadcast showing a different view but pretty much roof cam these days for me. I don't care about racing hardcore sim, never did and cockpit view doesn't appeal to me. I like to see the paint scheme of the car(s) I've painted personally. I did make a hyper detailed cockpit for my ICR mod but truth be told I only did it so when I temporarily switch cameras to in-cockpit it looks cool lol

Exactly. The big problem with cockpit is that you can't see your own car. It makes every car exactly the same and that's boring to me.

Also, cockpit severely limits your view. When racing online, I want every advantage I can get. I don't want to handicap my performance for the sake of realism.

I don't play for immersion, I play to have fun. I use cockpit as a novelty every now and then. Otherwise, its roof view 99% of the time.

I do cockpit if I am trying to drive an actual simulation (in which I tend channel my inner RWR), but most of the time I do roofcam. I have been doing it so long it is hard for me to do it any other way.

Well I started racing in the roof view because you could see more of your car, but then switched to cockpit view.

I usually use the roof cam because I started out doing so in Chase For The Cup, so I tend to use that in F1/NR2003/Assetto Corsa, but I use the cockpit whenever I use a steering wheel.

Knowing the reference photos that are out there, I would say he did pretty darn good job with replicating it. Maybe you should go check out iRacing and you will see the exact same thing with those gauges. You can express your opinion, but saying he lacked effort with it makes you sound stupid. So here's a opinion, don't use it, or wait til the mid season update when they actually start showing more of the cars interior. The other mods you listed they had way more photos back then. This car has been a unknown from the get go.
gotta agree with this, interior pictures, from what ive had to go through while making my own cars (which was roughly june-august 2021, or even earlier), are really rare to come by, and FCRD did a really good job on his. I really dont understand why some people think that stuff looks lazy as pretty much everything, besides the engine, has been changed. The interior being one of those major changes

I had a question, don't know if anyone can answer it. Why does the real life car have the dash so far from the driver? Also what is that horizontal plate between the dash and the driver? Is it some safety thing?

I only race in the cockpit camera because I have a Logitech G923, and it gives more immersion as if I'm actually driving.

Ahh, but the immersion of a race car driver IS the fun. I'm surprised people playing NR2003 outside of the cockpit to be honest.

I agree generally, but when I started playing (back in the N4 days), I felt like I was in a box that I could only see out of a little slit. Instead of having fun it just gave me anxiety. I have since practiced a lot more and gotten much more used to it, but it took a lot longer to get used to than just going to the rooftop view. I always felt like I was cheating that way, but it was a lot more fun for me.

I always use 3rd person view because I just have keyboard and controller. I don't get immersion race car driver with controller in cockpit view. It's also make disadvantage when racing. If I get wheel definitely try use cockpit view. In mobile phone racing game I always use cockpit because they offer tilt control somewhat I feel like holding steering wheel.

I haven't ran on NR2003 for years, I always would run chase or far chase when I did race NR.
Only times I like first person (outside of a fps game) was in GTA V or in Motorbike games, most other racing games especially racing online outside views make the most sense.

I like to use cockpit cam in nr2003 but only for the original cup mod and cup2000 mainly because of the smooth wheel turning and that it does not quickly turn left and right LOL
