And im not trying to be rude i love this mod at first ehhhhh but now yeah there just needs to be some improvent at least in the damage how hard can that be?
So many rude comments have followed the words "I'm not trying to be rude, but..." If you can't tell when he car is damaged with this mod, either you haven't damaged your car very much yet or you're totally blind. I mean, if you hit it hard enough parts come off completely. Can't get much better than that. And again, "how hard can that be?" is pretty hard considering we had not yet seen how the new composite bodies handled damage yet. And if it doesn't seem that hard to you, again I say, go make your own mod.

If it was so easy everyone would have made a feature complete NCS22 mod like 2 years ago when it was first announced. Mod making is anything but easy.

MENCS19 was also, what, the third version of that mod? And that Gen 6 had been out since 2013? Not to take anything away from what SNG accomplished, but they at least had a ton of reference material. No imagine they had been flying blind when it comes to specific details and you'd likely have seen a similar outcome.

You may be displeased with the damage model, and I'm okay with that. I made the decision to base the damage around xfinity cars since it was the closet expectation to the composite bodies, and unless they're clip deep in the wall the deformation is minimal, but the damage model is there. The Dash is very similar to the real world dash during testing and the iRacing version... if you have a problem with the gauge location take it up with NASCAR. If all you're going to do is accuse my team and myself of is "not trying" please uninstall the mod

I do implore anyone that is unsatisfied with anything someone else made in NR2003 to consider a few things:

1) The content is and was made for free, in most cases, hours, days, weeks, months or work. A creator doesn't have to make it at all, heck if they upload something and never come back they don't have to either. They are not a 24/7 customer support service that is being paid to keep NR2003 alive.

2) If there is something you are not happy about you can express your opinion but make sure its constructive criticism. Saying stuff like "X was better" doesn't help the creator know what is wrong. Provide solutions, not just criticism. Constructive criticism doesn't just point out a problem but also ideas, support, or new workflow to reach a goal.

3 ) Show some compassion for your fellow community members. Try and put yourself in their shoes. If you have not tried to make the content they have try to understand the end 'product' is only the tip of the iceberg and doesn't show all the learning, trial and error, and long late night hours trying to get something done let alone up the the very high standards everyone 'expects' your 'work' to be. Not every creator can handle that pressure where half the people in the crowd are metaporically booing them off the stage and comparing them to 'greater' creations. New contributors in NR2003 don't just start off amazing day 1.

It is unfortunate that it seems like people have become too used to getting an end product without having to put work in. It really seems to make them blind to the amount of effort that gets put into things. And I'm not just talking about this community, I'm talking about everywhere. I see it in everyday life; at restaurants, stores, clinics, even in people's homes.

The point is, keep in mind that people work long and hard for free to make these things available, just for the fun of it. If they didn't want to do these things, they simply would not exist. This isn't comparing Battlefield to CoD because of whatever people who don't know how the industry works want to bitch and moan about things. It still isn't really good to do that, but the fact is that industry will exist so long as there is a demand for it.

These mods only exist because people enjoy doing them, and they won't enjoy it anymore if people who make no effort to contribute simply want to tear things down. And I'm not saying this just to you @66Fan, I was surprised that I was underwhelmed by the cockpit model too. But my point, and the points being made here, is that this was a creative decision to attempt to make the cockpit more realistic, not because someone slacked off in creating it. So no one should be jumping to that conclusion, all it will do is push away the people that make this game keep going after all these years.

Here's a great example of how the dash really looks. Keep in mind that that camera's POV is lower and even closer than the driver's and note how difficult to read that display still is. https://video.twimg.com/ext_tw_video/1490168924050059265/pu/vid/720x1280/o1wNrXVe3hLG2B3m.mp4?tag=12
I understand that James.....but that guys hands are on his wheel right?...that means are hands would be in our screen not a foot and half behind the monitor/TV where our steering wheels are mounted. So reality may need to be fixed a little...heres a few screenshots, these are taken with my phone resting right on my steering wheel,,,,and I know I set closer than ayone here probably.

As someone who has sat in and raced a multitude of real world race cars and understand the difference from dash to dash as far as depth, all 3 of those cockpits FOV are fine.

Except you can see the steering wheel in the other 2 mods, too. So that just shows that this isn't a mod issue, it's due to the fact that the Next Gen has a different layout than the old cars. That video pretty clearly illustrates that. The FOV could be adjusted so that the wheel is effectively behind the "camera" and the gauges closer, sure. But as I said on FB, if that had been your attitude from the beginning and not this "low effort/didn't try/such a shame" stuff...your take would have been a lot better received.

yeah your right........I probably shouldn't have said it the way I did, and I apologize for the didn't try part! but I stand behind my "opinion" of it is disappointing and un-usable to race seriously in cockpit mode............Sorry to whoever I pissed off.

Well, props for that. A lot of people would double down and not apologize. I don't get the "unusable" part, though. I ran and won a race at Daytona using a very early version of the mod and was in cockpit view the entire time. It was basic in terms of modeling and textures but it had the same FOV. Not sure how I did that if the thing is unusable. *shrug*

I guess I mean it would be hard to manage fuel, gear and tape adjustments for open setups especially. Or even make new setups.
