Thanks Mick! Did you lose a lap at some point? The results file shows a 1-lap margin of victory, but I thought you were still on the lead lap at the end.

I reviewed the replay and in true "NR2003 has many flaws" form, it didn't bother to count Mick's last lap. He was the last car on the lead lap.

Again congrats @ZiggyM

"We had a pretty good piece out there, she was just a little tight after that early race thing, we were looking to miss all of it but racing fate rules, we just tried to stay on our fuel strategy, the tires held up and we had a good finish."

Wait... @ZiggyM you're putting your Rockingham setup up AFTER the race?

Yep. I showed up with "ZMRock_62.cts.sim" from the collection Trae posted at the Delat msg board (https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/deltaracing/nr2003-setups-t3998.html), changed to GNS.

It had gearing that was too high, riding the limiter just past the S/F line, of course the weight needed adjusting since "50/50" in the GNS car actually means something like (46/54), the ride height was too low (being that rear springs are fixed at 350 and I was probably running stiffer springs) so it needed to be raised to keep from bottoming out in T4 and then I added some tape during the race since the 3.933 gear was a bit too low and the 4.000 was a bit too high. By running the 3.933 rear end, the high line would get the car to wind up and I was able to go high and keep speed, until the tires started to go. With the 4.000, I was hitting the limiter before the end of the front stretch.

I could have posted the "ZMRock_62" setup (which is included in the setup packs Trae posted at Delta) before the race but that would have meant people would have been on the limiter, loose and bottoming out. And that would have been pretty lame...
A bit like when I sent out a "200Dega" challenge setup... I had the tires at 60 psi all around, spoiler at 45, soft rear springs and tape at 100%, and asked people to try their best to post a lap speed of 200MPH at Talladega (chassis 5), with weather cloudy and 40 degrees. I got up to 198, I think..

Anyhow, next race at Talladega, a couple of people started the race with my "200Dega" setup and then BLAMED ME for their engines blowing after 3 laps because they didn't remove any tape...

And I wasn't able to post the 'winning setup' before the race, for what I believe to be completely obvious reasons.

Trae posted setups at Delta - https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/deltaracing/nr2003-setups-t3998.html

I encourage all drivers, especially the fast ones, to share their setups. I find it much more competitive and easier on those of us that show up with 15 minutes or so left to practice.

Have fun!! ;-)

I gotta be happy with third when I look at the guys who finished ahead of me. It was fun keeping up with ya Mick (for the first half anyway) but it was one of those nights when nobody was gonna catch the famous 02 car. Hats off Ziggy!
