first impressions... these cars are a blast, i cant really drive them, but they are so fun to drive, especially when you complete a perfect powerslide through a corner (usually only happens every 50th corner, but still)

@Andle those are all version 2.0 cars. If you see "ACL TA.." in the car name, it's a v2.0 car. The ones were running (I think) will be "ac_legends_..." Never mind, they all have ACL TA in the file name.. If you've got duplicates, use the one with the more side view of the preview.

v2.0 car will have a more front facing preview.

Cars we're using will have a more side facing preview

Might I suggest you try a U2 car until you've learned...what I'm trying to avoid is you not being able to drive these cars (the O2) and having to do a bunch of work for nothing...are you even gonna make thee races?

aye aye... u2 it is until i can handle the cars. i will make the races. the reason I have not been to the last 3 is because i was on a trip with my family (dad's side in michigan from friday-monday, flew back solo and worked from tuesday to friday, flew out to moline friday night, stayed with mom's side of the family saturday through friday, drove back monday)

v1.2 O2 cars really aren't that hard to drive.. If he was running the 2.0, then yea, they're a handful.. Make sure you're in the cars we're going to run (get the dl from post #1 and install, then see my post above about the previews to make sure your in the older version cars) and see how ya like them! We had a blast with those cars a while ago when we ran them!

Note: Whatever I decide to run, I'll paint myself! No extra work for boss!! :openedeyewink:

yeah, im testing them all out, in the o2 class the javilin seems to be the most controlable for me, in the u2 class the rx3 is my favorite so far. I will also paint my own so bill doesnt need to do any extra work. (I will try to keep it period accurate as well)

its a tough choice in u2- first impressions

the bmw is firmly planted and is easy to go fast in, like its really fast (almost too fast)

tigg has a point with the escort as you can catch it when it gets sideways (and it makes you feel like a boss when you drift a corner)

the mini is slow, but impossible to get sideways

the rx3 feels fast in a straight line, but it gets loose very easily and the back end is hard to catch, get your braking done early. car could be fast in the right hands. steering feels muted as well. it is also the best sounding imo

the cortina feels heavy despite being one of the lighter cars, it feels good on corner entry, but feels slow on exit. also is more planted than the bmw

the datsun is quick on corner exit and very stable all around, my only knock on it is that it feels as if it doesnt want to slow down

the alfa is quick, but is a crap ton of slideways in the corners, sideways on entry, sideways if you lift on exit

all testing done on Laguna seca
feel free to give your own opinions on the cars as well (i am no expert, so i could be feeling it wrong

@Highbank Bill can you classify or explain how you want the drivers or cars specified please. Is it like the IMSA series where the faster guys are in the slower cars or is there another way we can choose? There is plenty of time to get this the way you envision it and we have an ace in the hole (Mick) for any technical adjustments that need to be made.

That being said, this series will be for the most part during my crazy time so I don't know much I will be able to participate.

shifter is also messed up, 4th gear reads as 2nd gear (not a mapping issue) 4th gear and 2nd gear both read as 2nd... time to take apart the shifter

The Mini is a master of illusion. It's an easy car to drive with it's light weight and low power, but in the right hands it is a beast. In GTL it is a blast to drive once you figure out how to drive it, they've come close in A.C., but if you can get your hands on GTL you wont regret it. Also look on YouTube for real life Mini races at Goodwood, a pure joy to watch.
