Had started typing out this and never got it sent the other day... Doh!!View attachment 145223 My RAM arrived today, I put it in, it worked and when I did a Benchmark in AC, my "5956" settings went to "5950" (59 FPS, 50% CPU)! So, I turned on shadows and reflections and I'm getting 59 FPS and 57 CPU usage, which is very near my goal of "6060".
Post processing takes the FPS down to 46 and the CPU to 61%, which isn't horrible (I ran GPL at 36 FPS for decades) but I'll save that setting for replays.
This coming weekend, I'll probably spend a day (or 2) testing all the settings to see if I can get it to "6060" and looking good.
I must say the graphics (I'm so much more interested in how the cars drive than look) of AC are impressive. It looks very 'real' to these NR2003/GPL eyes. Now, I wonder how rFactor looks and if I should get back into modding and 'finish' the Stock Car Legends...
Thx for the help and motivation to keep going on this. My $100 computer, with about $250 in upgrades, runs like "a million bucks" as far as I'm concerned.
Great it is working decent for you!!
Yeah unfortunately that CPU(APU) does not get as much done for all the clock pulse as other CPU architecture. If it could sweat it would be pretty damp after a race LOL.
Good work Ziggy! Right on Tigg for reminding about how intensive the Shadows can be.
Back when, I would have to go lower on shadow stuff, Anti-aliasing, Reflections and Post-processing in some games, when I was still milking along my GA-Z77X-UD3h MoBo with an i5-3570k 16GB of 2400Mhzoc capable DDR3, dialed in with better reduced latency timings. CPU was OC'd to just over 4.4Ghz stable. Its standard clock is 3.4Ghz with up to 3.8Ghz turbo clock.
And at one time that very same card you got from me was in it.
I still have that PC, parts in a box. The Raid drive array for it in another above ha. And a whole `nuther of the same board and CPU I picked up sometime back on a good deal. Was a backup in case and for another system when someone needed something like that.
Anyway, Great!!
Stay well!
