Going to redo mine as it’s been a whole long time :)
A mod: either a 1995 or 2022 truck series mod. I really like the look of both these trucks.
A track: I’d love to see a modern take on riverside
A thing: I don’t really have a “thing”. I feel like NR has been taken to its limits and has really had a satisfying amount of add-ons for me.

Minor update because I'm bored.
Mod: Open wheelers. Whether it be a more modern Formula 1 or 2 or anything, 90s IndyCars, a less intensive IR18 (despite how good the NFF one is), anything. Also some good prototypes and GT's
Track: Street circuits. Any. Fictional get bonus points.
Thing: I dunno, I guess IndyCar physics that don't require me going into the ini of every track I work with.

1-a Mod
A version of the original Papyrus Cup mod with updated cockpit view for a really low "dash cam" FOV (maximum visibility out the windshield while just barely seeing all your gauges without visible steering wheel), an unrealistic rear view mirror positioned like the BR15 mirror or the virtual mirror in roofcam, and a non-DEI version of the below cockpit gauges and layout (from here) with more graphical polish. Oddly specific I know. But I think it would make racing in cockpit view extra fun. And no more camhack required! Once I have the time to learn to create mods myself, I just might do this...

2-a Track
An updated version of Brian Ring's "The Rock" mod of 2002/3-era Rockingham with the track grip and LPs modified such that the preferred line is around the top of the track.

3-a Thing
A definitive, well-polished set of modded physics to get as close as we can in NR2003 to 2002-3 era Cup cars.

People who actually donated real money to the sites, painters, track makers or mod makers instead of demanding everything they want...

Even if I wasn't legally obligated to (because of NR's TOS, in regards to painting, track making, and modmaking), I would reject money thrown at me, because I think that could quickly suck a lot of the joy I take in creating stuff for the game.

I also think you risk creating paywalls behind content for the game, which I do not think is or was ever a good idea. That being said, I definitely understand your point, I just feel very strongly about it in the other direction in every way except for sites. That's a much different story. I haven't really been in a position to support sites directly in some time, and I don't think everyone in the community who makes silly suggestions in here is, either.

I've never taken track requests before... but... I did create Middle Georgia because Eric, the gentleman who approached me about making it, had some really good ideas on how to make it work and what it should look like. We pooled our noggins together and that's why it looks the way it does. I've also combed through this thread periodically to see if someone has a track idea that interests me.

Edit: Apologies if this comes off as hostile. I didn't mean for it to be that way.

2-a Track - Sonoma. But wait we already have Sonoma. Yes, but we don't have a winter version of Sonoma where the grass is nothing but green.
Honestly, this might be the perfect project for someone new to Sandbox, because the scope is simple and so is the goal. Textures would be the main work you'd have to do, on the grass and the trees. I did say "Sandbox" instead of just doing texture replacements for a reason. Even if you're just doing an edit of the default Sonoma. As I just stated; perfect beginner project, just focus on texture mappings and that's it. :D
1 mod: Modern-day F1 Mod
2 track: LA Coliseum (Only thing I could thing of)
3 thing: Sprint/Midget car racing physics
I think I recall seeing someone actually taking a stab at making the oval configuration of the LA Coliseum. Might even have been on here (in which case, I'm clearly not awake) but I can't recall.

My thoughts as someone who is getting back into NR2003 after many many years.
1) Mod- Can't think of one as what I have found are outstanding. Just finished a 47 race 63 Cup AI series.
2) Track- Short Tracks where the AI doesn't pit 112 times after a little damage lap after lap.
 Thing- The ability to have more than 43 cars attempt to qualify for a race.

I want to thank all the modders who have kept this gem alive for so many years.

I wasn't going to reply, I've talked myself out of replying for a long time. It kept gnawing at me.

Unless you're running the base game and PWF's mods which were sanctioned by Papyrus to be the Official mods and add-on tracks for the game, then you and everyone else has broken the T.O.S., especially anyone who had downloaded the game for free. At this point it's the community that's keeping the game alive, not the developers, not the publishers, but the community. Making mods, tracks, paints and running sites isn't easy or cheap, especially a site like this. A simple $5 donation once a month to keeps this place up and running is not a big ask and if you've(general term, not pointing fingers) have downloads posted here I strongly feel it's a must since you help with the cost of the bandwidth this site uses month in and month out. Or go get your own site and see how much it costs and how much work goes into building a community.

You say the community keeps the game alive, suggest people donate to the people who keep the game alive (the 'community') then here you say "it's a must" that people who create things and provide them (ie. THE COMMUNITY) should be the ones paying?

Please clear this up. I am certain I do not understand what you are saying.

I'm highly suggesting that if you have stuff up for download, you should help cover the cost of bandwidth, after all, if you had your own site you'd be paying for it and a whole lot more then my suggested $5 a month.

So I am confused, still. I have quoted your "thing", which says you wish people would donate real money to the sites, painters, track makers or mod makers. Then you post what I previously replied to, which you suggest the painters, track makers or mod makers ought to be the ones paying.

According to what is only in this thread, your ideal is that site hosts are paid by the painters, track makers and mod makers as well as random people downloading stuff. Those random people, according to what is available in this thread, written by you, also should be paying the mod makers, track makers and painters.

And in your most recent reply, you suggest the mod makers, track makers and painters are the ones that ought to be donating for the site - no comment about the people demanding things.

Looks very "not interested in community" to say the people doing the nose to the grindstone work should be the ones paying, while talking about how it's the community that keeps the game alive.

EDIT: It obviously takes $ to keep a site up, downloads available, etc. There is no argument from me that it would be beneficial and some people really should be helping out, but come on there are a million better ways to present it.

You're never gonna get anything out of the give me generation.

If you look, this thread was started 5 years ago as away to get people using the forums. % years later they're still asking for the same things, which quite frankly are readily available in other games. Other games that have better everything, but aren't "free".

Sorry you're having a hard time understanding my rant. I did go after the give me and everything should be free people kind of hard.

So, let's just not ask for any money from anyone.

Mod: Some hovercraft mod, like F-Zero or Wipeout (Or a combination of the two or something unique in that vein)
Track: Interlagos (and some more South American tracks in general)
Thing: Heat racing
