Alright, so let's go ahead and start the dive into the Hellset!
So the Hellset is a mock season project i've been working on, so within this thread, I'll be tagging any Hellset cars or info with the following tag:
AW HELL
anyways, with that being said we shall get into the set now
===========================================================================================================================================
AW HELL
the car your looking at being the #92 of Steve Matthews, who signed a 1 Year contract extension for 2003 with Red River Racing(Melling Racing, except they didn't explode). Steve is one of those drivers you have in a series that everyone knows about, and everyone respects. He comes home with a clean race car, is a nice sociable guy, and always out performs his equipment, such as with his "Shooting Star" esc. run he had in the 2001 Daytona 500, where he went from 27th to 9th in a single lap by simply playing his cards right and drafting the right people.
A superspeedway ace, and someone you can always trust to being the car home, that? is Steve Matthews.

"YEAH !!! WE GOT BROADBAND BABY!!!" - At least one person in 2003
This here, is Brandon Allen(me !)'s car for the 2003 Season.
Brandon Hasn't lit the world on fire needless to say, as in his first season(2001, part time) he only made 3 races out of 36, when he was supposed to have raced 12 times, but luckily for him his connections with AOL kept him in the car for 2002, which saw a decent improvement. Although he is quite crash prone, as he always manages to be in the right place at the wrong time, for instance in his part time effort in 2001, he found himself in front of the leaders at Darlington as they were coming up to lap him for the 4th time, when the car in front of him spun down the track, so He swung the car far down low, lost the back end and spun back up, ending up slamming into 3rd place runner Candace "Cannonball" Cannon, ending her day, and his.
In other words, Brandon Allen is a Pay driver, someone who has a lot of sponsorship and is a good personality, but simply can't really get it done too well in the cup series despite his Busch Series success.
===========================================================================================================================================
okay so here is Nathan Meyer's 2003 NAPA Auto Parts car.
Nathan is one of those drivers that you know will bring the car home, but not in the best position. He'll Either have a decent day, and finish higher than 25th, or alternatively, finish normally around 30th place. Due to this, many onlookers will wonder how Meyer keeps his ride and the reason is?
He is very good friends with the NAPA people.
Due to this? He is the single reason NAPA is on that #15 Deora MacOilen Chevrolet. Although he has had some breakout moments, such as some very very good flashes at the plate tracks? He hasn't done well, and has struggled with mechanical failures, with the most heartbreaking being when he had a shot at his first win at the fall atlanta race in 2002, only to have his radiator give out and overheat only 30 laps from the end of the race.
But in the end? All most people look at is results, anyways time to go explode bye.
===========================================================================================================================================
So, this here is Ocean Isherwood, The 27 year old 2000 Winston Cup Champion, who is overall one of the most consistently fast drivers in the sport at the moment. Currentl heading into the 2003 winston cup season, Ocean has 37 wins across the Cup series, Busch Series and Truck Series(she has one win in both busch and trucks, both came early in her career) Ocean is one of those drivers where the moment you see her in the mirror, you need to either go faster or move out of the way as she isn't afraid to move you out of the way if you don't budge, just ask Ryan Adema. Ryan is one of the few drivers that doesn't mvoe over for Ocean, why you may ask? Because to him: "Racing is racing, no matter where I am? I'm racing" equaling someone that is an absolute bastard to pass, and all of this came to a head in the 2001 season at the fall chicagoland race, when Ryan got tired of Ocean moving him out of the way, and during a long green flag run he turned her into the fence, causing her to get up on her side and destroy her car.
She got the car somewhat repaired and went out and finished 29th on the lead lap, meanwhile Ryan finished 37th 8 laps down.
in conclusion, Ocean should not be fucked with.
===========================================================================================================================================
So, this here is Cynder Peretti, the rookie on the Bill Belichick Enterprises Lineup.
Cynder hasn't ever gotten a win across any of the NASCAR nation series(s), but results don't tell the full story.
Cynder has led an astounding 6,000 or so career laps. With her most dominant run being in the 2000 BGS Daytona 250, where she led 97% of laps until the big one happened with 7 or so to go, taking her out of the race. So in otherwords, this signing has been a long time coming, and with the purchase of the points from the #11 Fleet Crews Racing car? Peretti has a cushion for if she has trouble this season.
In Conclusion, everyone has their eyes on Cynder, and you should too.
===========================================================================================================================================
Okay so this here is Daniel Rivera, who has been around for a bit, since 98 running that #1 chevrolet for Deora MacOilen Inc. He hasn't ever won sadly, but he has come incredibly close atleast 5 or so times each season, with a good example being in the 2001 Rockingham(1) race, where he had the quickest car by a large marigin, got up to the leader Jimmy Daniels only to have issues on pit road in a late race pit stop, combined with the odd factor that his car just wasn't the same left him leaving rockingham with a 7th place finish that day.
Dan overall is a good driver, and always finds himself in the top 15 or top 20, just waiting for him to capture that illustrious win now
(sidenote the valence tape will be different come time to run the race)
===========================================================================================================================================
this here
is "Big" Ben Callahan, driver of the #8 Budweiser Chevrolet for Deora MacOilen Inc. Ben has 15 wins across the Winston Cup series, and the Busch Series coming into 2003, Ben is one of those drivers you can, kinda, count on to bring the car home good. As he always finds himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. But hopefully with this lovely car people will see him there and not plow into him under caution as that happens to him more than you would expect.
In Conclusion? haha bri'ish nickname
===========================================================================================================================================
Say Hello to Sidney(but he goes by Sid) Allen, father of Brandon Allen and many time race winner!
Now I know what your thinking, "So Brandon, how buffed did you make your dad?" and to that I raise you the fact he's only won in Busch and Trucks and not in the cup series(although he has come close). Sid is one of those drivers who always finds themselves either out performing their equipment or having some sort of mechanical failure. For instance, at the 2002 Atlana Fall race, Sid had b een leading for a lot of the race as he just had the best car on track by a longshot, only to drop a cylinder with around 100 or so to go, relegating him to a 34th place finish for the race.
In conclusion, sid is good! but damn inconsistent and unlucky.
(sidenote, the yellow on the car has since changed to a yellow more akin to Penske Yellow)
===========================================================================================================================================
Anyways, say hello to Columbus Crawford, driver of the #29 Pennzoil/GM Goodwrench Service Plus Chevrolet Monte Carlo for Brett Burke Motors(what a title!)
Columbus is a good driver, and his stats show it, as his 16 wins across the Winston Cup Series, Busch Grand National Series, and Craftsman Truck Series show that to you(most of those wins come in GNS, but he still has 3 cup wins). So, you may be wondering why he's rocking the Pennzoil from 03 onwards instead of the #1 car, and well it's simple! Alltel wanted to be on that #1 car, and Goodwrench didn't want to be the primary of two cars on the same team, so it was a win win! Pennzoil slid over to the 29, and the 1 got it's Alltel sponsorship, all while Pennzoil doesn't have to pay for the sides, so it truly is a win all around!
Anyways Columbus is a very consistent driver, always finished around the ladder half of the top ten, or high top fifteens really, so you can expect to see this cat eye'd beaut ip front several times this season.
===========================================================================================================================================
This here? Is Waylon Mercy, driver of the #7 MERCY Motorsports Bobcat Ford Taurus.
Waylon is one of those drivers that you always wonder what would happen if he was given top tier equipment as he always has so many flashes of speed only to never back it up with a win really. He's only got 2 wins across BGN, and CTS. with one each with both of them oddly coming at Richmond of all places, anyways.
At the ripe age of 40, Waylon is really not all that old compared to the current cup series field, with several drivers over the 40 mark, and about 4 over the 50 mark, He's got a while before he starts to go down hill but in his own words: "Ya nevuh know when ya last race will be, so I treat every race as muh last" and yes he has that thick of an accent.
===========================================================================================================================================
This? Is Simone Walker. Driver of the #77 NationsRent/Pyroil Ford Taurus.
She previously drove the #77 Jasper Motorsports Ford, as MERCY Motorsports bought out Jasper in october of 2002, where they then fully combined teams and such for 2003. Anyways, Simone was a good driver in the Jasper car, with a lot of good runs in the iconic jasper yellow ford, but with no wins across any national series, a lot of people were wondering if Simone would show back up for 2003. Then? It was announced she was back until 2004 with sponsorship from NationsRent, also meaning the main sponsor of the #7 was moving to the #77.
Anyways, she's a good driver just waiting to have a breakthrough!
===========================================================================================================================================
so this is deora macoilen and his ride. the 7 time champ with over 100 wins across the three national series(97 WCS, 4 GNS, 2 CTS) and one of the 2 drivers to ever get 7 championships in NASCAR history! Deora is the guy you fear, when you see this blue bullet on track you got to make sure you either make room for him to pass, or hope to god you can hold him off or out run him.
Aka, don't let him get past you, but you better be good enough to stay ahead of him!
In conclusion, make sure to respect The Blue Bullet!
===========================================================================================================================================
Alright, this here is Jimmy Daniels, a 3-time Cup Champion, and a 61 Time winner across the WCS & NBS. Always a dominant force to be reckoned with on track, it's a common theme every week to see MacOilen V Daniels, or Duk V Daniels, Rivera V Daniels, or really? Everyone V Daniels.
He always manages to run better than you'd expect him to with damaged equipment as well, such as his mind blowing performance in the 2002 Fall Darlington race where he drove from 42nd after an accident to 13th with no hood or fenders, just raw speed and talent as the race ran cautionless after the accident he was in. No matter what, it doesn't matter where you are or where he qualified you ALWAYS have to look out for the #24 car in your mirrors.
In conclusion? Jimmy Daniels is a powerhouse of a team, and many wonder if he will ever surpass Deora MacOilen or Frank Rollins with 7 Championships.
anyways, I'm sure you can see the inspiration behind the car here, those un-used Sam Bass #24 schemes always rang out in my head as something I want to see so I decided to make my spin on it and boi howdy I fucking love it. I'm sure this car will be one of the easiest to spot on track.
===========================================================================================================================================
Say hello to Rookie Trixie Belldon coming up for her first Winston Cup season with the team Blondies Babes Racing.
the BBR team bought out what used to the Conseco #14 team in 2001 as the team was struggling with qualfying so owner Jody Daniels(yes, relation to Jimmy) bought the team and named it Blondies Babes Racing, with a focus on being a female run and operated team, such as the fact their pit crew is all female going into 2003 so that should be interesting to watch.
Trixie herself is nothing special behind the wheel, but she's always been a clean driver, so for her to get called up to the cup series? Many people weren't surprised especially with her dominant performance at Busch Talladega last season. Along with her coming to the team, former driver Karissa Ellard reportedly left the team with "Burnt Bridges" so it'll be interesting to see if anything were to happen between the #14 and #01 teams this season.
In conclusion hopefully Trixie can keep it clean like she has in busch in her first venture into the cup series.
===========================================================================================================================================
Say hello to Karissa Ellard in the #01 Super Kmart Pontiac Grand Prix for FW2 Racing!
Karissa is a very interesting case of a driver as she has consistently been someone who has been on the board of "untapped potention" so to speak. So much so that at one point last season she was snatched from her ride in the #14 car to drive the #97 for Darien Arnsdorff after he had a family emergency before the second Daytona race, and hell Ellard came 3rd in that car! Now you may think thats a fluke but many compare her to MacOilen with the way she drives at plate tracks, she can just slice and dice their way through the field like its nothing which has been shown off on several occasions, with many of the old #14 teams best runs coming at plate tracks with Ellard behind the wheel with her best finish being 4th in the 2001 Daytona 500.
Now that Karissa is out of the #14 team after a messy departure where reportedly a "physical altercation" between Karissa and team owner Jody Allen ensued. Apparently it was settled out of court but that definitely shows that Ellard most definitely won't be returning to the #14 team or anything to do with it anytime soon. Now she's at FW2 Racing and it's organizition, which has scored 3 wins over the last 2 seasons with 2 from Jacob Thibodeaux in 01 and 1 from Grimstead in 02, it's clear the team is trying to focus on full-season performance instead of having the short bursts of winning speed last the last few seasons.
In Conclusion, Ellard should be kept in mind for any track above 1 and a half miles, and you should definitely look to see if the #01 team gets involved with the #14 during the season!
anyways so I wanted to go with a more simple yet sponsored look for the #01 car, with a whole different font than the other cars on the team, I really want to get the individuality of each car and driver across with them.
===========================================================================================================================================
So this is Bandit Gallagher in the brand new #38 team for MARCO(mario andretti's team, and yeah we have fictional drivers but a possibly real owner?? i know it makes a lot of sense) ANYWAYS the MARCO team has had success dating back to before Andretti's involvement, but ever since being in the sport MARCO has been on fire, with Evander Duk and Murdoch Mercy winning his first Winston Cup championship in 2001(Son of Waylon Mercy), plus with the MARCO funded Busch Team "Hillcrest Motorsports" being propelled to greatness with Bandit Gallagher and his not so fortunate teammate Robert "The Phantom" Phanim who ended up missing 12 races in 2002, but thats besides the point.
Bandit moving up to cup was something everyone in the Garage expected, especially with him even attempting the 2002 Pepsi 400, clocking in 7th fastest on the leaderboard in the "Hillcrest Motorsports" car(which was really a Murdoch Mercy car re-skinned into a third car) but due to qualifying being rained out Bandit didn't get to race in the cup race that weekend, but to make up for it? He won the busch race that same weekend!
In Conclusion, with 17 wins across NCTS, BGN this red and black coke car should be spotted up front a lot!
===========================================================================================================================================
also i have to split this into two messages so bare with me-
