MOD: Can-Am V5.5 Mclaren M8D

Use the larger of the two files...the rar one.
This is a tough one for me, Dave Sabre created the original four cars for this mod and someone added some additional cars and released them without his permission. The mod would have been glorious had he finished it to his liking but some jerk ruined that for us. Dave is still unhappy about this. He did finally do a finished version of his Can Am mod for rFactor called the Can Am 1971 I believe, he did it for the online racing group he races with but the download is no longer there. I would love for us to use it, I have it, but will not offer it up without his blessings.
Sometimes our sim racing community is populated by folks who ruin good things for all of us. I hope a certain someone hears what I am saying and knows that I am referring to them. CHEERS!
TRACK: Donnybrook

Donnybrook (now called Brainerd) in Minnesota, is one of the hallowed road racing facilities in North America. For many years it hosted the Can Am, Trans Am and F5000 series and especially known for doing that during the Golden years of those series. It's a travesty that we don't have any modern version of the track in any of the newer sims, it is still very active and hosts the Trans Am to this day...

The Can Am Series is truly where my love of motorsports began and still lives on via vintage racing groups. Though I have become know for my love of Trans Am, Can Am is what I love most. That love led me to rFactor and this mod many years ago. GPL has a very fine 1971 Can Am mod as well and we'll one day get some HLCs up with it.
So you'll be driving one of the most iconic race cars in motorsports history (how many of you slept in beds shaped like this McLaren? We lost Bruce McLaren in 1970 while he was testing the M8D which led directly to the M8F.
The video below still brings tears to my eyes...they flow even as I type this post...
Dan Gurney had retired from driving just prior to Bruce's death. He came back and drove for Bruce's Team McLaren and Bruce's iconic #4 renumbered as the #48, Dan won the first two races he drove the car, a fitting tribute to one of the most important drivers and car designers in motorsports history. Gurney had to give up his seat driving the McLarens because of his relationship with Castrol, Team McLaren was sponsored by Gulf Oil...the conflict ended one of the greatest partnerships in Can Am. Peter Revson would take over for Dan, he would go on to become the 1971 Trans Am Champion.
I've wanted to put this HLC up from the very first...for Bruce McLaren
