    Hey All,
I have just entered the realm of NR2003 paint scheme making and rendering. I've got a copy of Autodesk 3DS Max 2015, but I run into a couple of issues while rendering:

Whenever I load the scene and try to put a picture in the background, it comes up as plain gray.

Whenever I put the actual scheme on the model, it is very pixelated and not as smooth as I would like it to be. I don't know if I need to do something after or what.

    Thanks,
    Ethan Kurtz

The back ground issue , you have to load it in two places under Views Viewpoint background click files than find your background.
Now 1 more time, under rendering tab click on the environment under common parameters/background /environment map the tab that most likely says none click that than bitmap than find your back ground..
Max 2015 you will have to use mental ray scene if your trying to render with older brazil scenes they will not work.
If you are using a scene that has a bowel that will create issues with a back ground as well

The other issue not sure post a picture so all can see it.

Is this an old scene your using that was made for a different version of 3dsMax, or are you creating your own scene from scratch?

Well you got the back ground in. What scene are you working with? Your missing a number of things. you need a plane which is a ground level cameras and lighting are a must to give you shadows.
Google has all kinds of videos on getting stuff mastered 3dmax is not user friendly and the names of the tools etc, your like why in heck did they name it that.
keep at it. there are a number of scenes here at Stunod Racing that Iceman have posted that will work fine they should be Mental ray scenes.

I got it off of the download section. It's the Gen-6 Pocono Brazil scene. Whenever I try to actually hit the render button, it will load something really quickly, but won't load the actual render window and it won't start rendering.

Ok I see the problem that is a brazil scene which you do not have, and wont be able to get. brazil plugin works great with Max9 maybe 10 but after that your out of luck. You need a Mental ray scene try this one Bullring BR13 Gen6 3 Car Mental Ray Scene
there is a plain background here, the only mental ray scene I can think of is Icemans Bristol one.

Yeah, that's why I was asking if he was working with an old scene/ or different version, or some type of addon. Knew something was screwy with what he was trying to do with Max 15.
