Given that this is the initial release of their 1st mod, I'm glad to see they approached this in stride. MENCS17 had similar issues, 18 improved on it, and 19 made it seamless. I think FCRD, when they roll out an update, it'll likely be the same; less crashes, certainly better FPS.
And for the record, I, as well as many others, get fair to significantly better FPS and stability with the d3d8/d3d9 reshade files (I just don't use any presets or shaders loaded). Combine that with the 4GB patch, and the game just runs better.
I just don't think (and I'm saying this because of what I've seen thus far and experienced now on 3 different PC builds) it's realistic anymore to run these newer mods, with all the eyecandy on, at BBMC or super-detailed tracks. We've hit the EXE limitations (for now...?) on what the game can handle, so in that case, some sacrifices are likely going to have to be made if you want to... Until someone figures out a CPU/GPU patch akin to the 4GB patch that makes the game handle graphics and textures more efficiently.
