Thanks a lot. google was my friend, i even found it online yesterday. however, the cars are looking great outside, but the cockpit and damage model is alpha, so it wouldn't be fair to complain. Looking forward to the beta, i'm a vintage crazy, they gonna be great! thanks again. :)

Denis, hope you don't mind but we kind of took this mod and ran with it a little bit! There are now lots of cars posted in the download section for it. GN55 is great, finished or not. Super work by you as always. A little more of NASCAR history is preserved and enjoyed by many. THANKS @Rioux !!!!!!!!

Well gang, I'm thinking more and more about possibly getting into 3D modelling. Call me crazy, but I wanna see a 1940s mod that badly. I don't expect it to be an easy/quick process, but I'd like to contribute to the community a bit more, so I'm gonna keep looking into what would be necessary for this to be a thing.

You're my hero!
I wouldn't call me a hero till I prove I can do anything remotely associated with 3D modelling, lol :p

My ideas are basically this:

Make #1: 1940s Modified, since the majority of the cars raced were Fords, I figure one model would cover half the field, so that would allow a plethora of options with that. Not only that, but this would also double for the possibility of some pre-war carsets, provided someone were up to the challenge of finding documentation/photos from that far back. I've only seen a few in Fielden's books.

Make #2: Late 1940s Olds. Going by my research, this was one of the more prevalent models throughout the first Strictly Stock season. The main issue with making a late 40s mod is that there was literally no rhyme or reason when it came to brand uniformity. It was race what you brung, and that's gonna be an issue. My solution would probably be figure out what were the most numerous models run, or go for the most iconic.

Make #3: The Nash Ambassador was a pretty unique model that could double (with the proper template) for some of the other models at the time that featured a sloped back design.

Make #4: Any of these would do most likely.

As for the late 40's model I think it's needless to ask whether there is a useable blueprint? Or any picture material showing the car also from front and rear? Great idea anyway!

I would imagine that there's photos of the cars out there, I would just have to find them. There's probably quite a few in Fielden's books that would be usable, and if not, there's always model kits that could provide a usable alternative.

EDIT: There are a few blueprints over TheBlueprints.com that could be used.

That's good news! I'm a foreign Nascar fan and my knowledge is way too low if it comes to details. Despite that I'm much interested in this.
