Looking at this link it seems any new car costs $12 and any new track will cost $12-$15.ok Can't find this on iRacing website or in forum, How much does each track cost and cars to upgrade, and to make it to cup, how much would it cost just to get to that level? I did try iRacing a few years ago for like $10 for 3 months and didn't know you had to start in a lower class and move up and spend money, ireally only wanted to run cup not the other series to move up, loved how the game played and graphics, but did not renew and sink money into it, a buddy of mine who races put 1,000 into it and enough of this money pit and quit.
Thanks

also what he posted, for the free content, you do get about 15? cars and around 15 or so tracks with different layouts.Looking at this link it seems any new car costs $12 and any new track will cost $12-$15.
The game looks alright but I'd never rent a game no matter how great it seems. Plus modding is a pretty big deal to me before I invest any energy into a game.
Don't buy it though steam, get it directly from their site, and they will give you a steam key that you can use for it, but other then that, DON'T GET IT FROM STEAM!Its on Steam for less I believe
I pretty much planned out everything before I bought, and do to Cup, Xfinity, or trucks, you only need one of the cars not all three, and some tracks are used in all of the series in the same season, you just have to see the schedule before hand. Thanks everyone , and noticed on my G27 the lights light up and in NR2003 they don't ? that was a few years ago, but i probably won't buy and keep sinking more money into it. having to buy another 25 - 30 cars for a full field, thats a chunk of change plus buying tracks? this must be a millionaires game and not for the average person?
I'd say it depends on your personal perspective and opinion. If this is the only racing game you play or if you bought into the marketing wank about it being the only worthwhile race sim endorsed by all the pros. Then you could justify the upfront and continuing costs. But you kind of have to have a bit of that invested brand loyalty to keep putting money into it.Thanks everyone , and noticed on my G27 the lights light up and in NR2003 they don't ? that was a few years ago, but i probably won't buy and keep sinking more money into it. having to buy another 25 - 30 cars for a full field, thats a chunk of change plus buying tracks? this must be a millionaires game and not for the average person?
yea i have been playing racing sims from Bill Elliott's PC game before Papyrus came out and each version since then, tried iRacing for the 9.99 3 month a few years ago but didn't know about the way it worked and quit and didn't want to pour money into so i played a few other racing games but didn't race the same so just stuck with NR2003. so i just started this thread cause iRacing never responded back on cost, but did respond wanting me to join and how. so hid the cost on moving up to cup, so probably keep playing NR2003. and appreciate all the hard work everyone puts into this game to keep it up to date and love the older mods i grew up with.I'd say it depends on your personal perspective and opinion. Thanks@alfiejay Are you looking to race with humans or with AI? I was going to respond to a question you asked but got confused myself
There's no need to reply if you're no longer considering iRacing, I just wanted to assist in clearing some of the confusion I read of on the forum when it comes to this sim in particular. I've been on/off a few times with iRacing since 2008 (if I remember that year right) so I've seen a bunch.
