Damage Models

Sorry I haven't been around much, been in and out of the hospital but I have a question. Has there ever been any really better damage models made for Nascar 2003. Maybe it's still off limits to change stuff like that in the game. Just wondering. Thank you.

Sorry to hear You've been in and out of the hospital but glad you are back. I think most of the damage models are built into the mods nowadays there was a cup damage add-on for the original cup mod but for the life of me I can't remember where I had it or saw it. Possibly someone else will chime in with a link.

File is called pwf_newcup. (did it do something with the tires too? I don't remember )

That's the one Carl but I'm not sure if it's anything more than visual damage. Never really looked further into it. I thought there was another one as well that it was just a MIP file that you would put in the series folder and it would show the roll cage if you scrape the wall on the side of the car.

The pwf_newcup adds a 3D hub to the wheel, a hi rez 'slow' tire mip and a scrape effect to the side damage. All visual, nothing different for the original cup models.
