I've seen like 5 of those, but I think some of them were plate tracks, IMO you can get better racing on road courses and short tracks in NR2003. It's rare that I download an oval longer than 1.25 miles long these days. What about a track like Charlotte but both the front stretch and the back stretch have a dog leg?
Agreed on too many 1.5 mile clones out there. there are definitely that. maybe an octogon shaped track with 8 equal straightaways wouldn't be a bad idea, like say 8 straightaways at about 1000 ft in length?
Houston DX was honestly a really good, unique 1.25-ish (I should know this and I don't, because I did a reskin of it, added some extra trackside objects, and cleaned up the AI in 2019) oval, turns 1 and 2 are a lot tighter than 3 and 4 are, you have to be on the brakes for it. It was supposed to be a real track, too, but it was never built, which is unfortunate, it would have easily been the best of the late 90s-early-00s cookie cutter tracks.
Not counting Roswell, Houston DX is the longest oval I've put any serious effort into cleaning up.
