It's All-Star weekend again so things will be a bit different than usual. Points will be awarded for All-Star Open picks, All-Star Race picks, the Truck and Xfinity Series races, and of course the Coke 600. Points for all preceding events will be added into your Coke 600 score. Any points for picks made for All-Star weekend without an entry the Coke 600 will not count.
Here's what's new for 2024. Because they've dropped the segment format in the All-Star Open, for the first time EVER, points will be awarded for correctly picking the winner of the Fan Vote to transfer into the All-Star Race! Three drivers total will transfer from the Open to the All-Star Race - the Open winner, 2nd place finisher, and the Fan Vote recipient. Correctly pick who they each are and earn 5 points for each correct pick. Correctly pick exactly who wins the Open, who finishes 2nd, and who wins the Fan Vote for a 10 point BONUS. For example let's say Corey LaJoie wins the Open, Carson Hocevar finishes 2nd, and Justin Haley wins the Fan Vote. My picks were Haley to win, Todd Gilliland 2nd, and Hocevar for the Fan Vote. I would earn 5 points for Haley and Hocevar but no bonus. Anyone who correctly picked LaJoie to win, Hocevar to finish 2nd and Haley to win the Fan Vote would earn 5 points each plus the bonus for a total of 25 points *just* for the Open!
Here's how the points will be awarded per the 2024 event formats:
- 5 points each for picking the All-Star Open transfer drivers
- 10 point BONUS for picking the Open transfer drivers in their correct order - 1st and 2nd in the Open and the Fan Vote winner
- 5 points each for picking the winner of each All-Star Heat
- 20 points for picking the winner of the All-Star Race
- 10 points each for picking the winner of the North Wilkesboro Truck Series and the Charlotte Xfinity Series races
- Standard scoring for the Coke 600
So in all there's a total of 55 points up for grabs during All-Star weekend! No entry lists because they are not posted at the time this is being written. Check Jayski.com or wherever you get your Nascar info for the entry lists when they become available.
All players are free to make their picks for any upcoming event at any time between now and the start of each event. All drivers on any event's entry list are eligible to be picked in their respective event. None of this budgeting drivers or valuing drivers more than others. You can pick anyone you want for anything you want. Once a particular event has officially begun, picks for that event are FROZEN rain or shine.
