LMPv2 NextGen template by Ron Fox aka RacerRon13
This template is my attempt to best represent the Five Star Bodies NextGen bodies for use on the LMPv2 Pontiac model. It is important that you import your paint scheme ONLY to the Pontiac model. I started with the basic LMPv2 template which included several standard parts such as the interior colors, window outline and so forth. These were probably created by Brent Licata and/or Todd Garren at Short Track Central, the creators of the mod. Driver's suit parts from Brian Simpson, that have been the standard on these templates since the beginning, are used as well. I have added a HANS device to the driver parts section. I have redrawn the body lines on the template to represent as closely as possible the separation of body panels on the real cars. I have used my own photos as well as those found on Google images to create the different parts and decals for the template. I have used a couple of parts from various LMPv2 templates with permission from the original creator. This same holds true for the shading. With permission from Big Evil Racing, I have used shading from their Gen6 Camaro template to simulate the "indents" on the hood, contours of the rear bumper cover, plus a little shading
to try to represent the front splitter and rear wheel well/quarter panel area. These were major components which inspired me to continue with creating this template. I have tried my best to represent the shading on the front area of the template.
This template is a 3 in 1. There are separate layers for the front decals and the corresponding front shading for the Camaro, Camry and Mustang. There are optional taillight configurations available as well. Included are two types of fuel fillers, which are the most common on these cars. There are options for hood pins, valance bolts and exhaust plates. Different spoilers are included... and make sure to select the correct corresponding trunk top base. If you choose to run with a solid spoiler, be sure to turn off or delete the top trunk base and support layers. I do not claim to be great at shading, but am fairly happy with my results. Depending on the color of your car, you may want to change the opacity of layers. One "mistake", if you will, is that I forgot until after I was nearly finished with this template that some cars do NOT run some or all of the model decals. My suggestion is to change that particular part (whether the upper grill, headlights, lower side vents) to a shade just slightly lighter than your base color. I have tried it and it looks perfectly fine. Depending on the paint program that you use, you may need to decide which layers you will not need and delete them. I use Paint Shop Pro 7 and it only allows 99 layers. This template has close to 100 layers. I have labeled each layer so you should know what each pertains to. I have created this template with variety and adjustability in mind. I hope it helps you in your painting efforts.
Sincerely,
Ron Fox
