I think you mis-read the lap times. (Maybe you had "word problems" like @Andle!?) They actually ran times that compared with the fastest GTD cars.....so in other words, they are faster than the Porsches and BMWs!
I did read that they thought the car was about 10 seconds a lap faster than the regular NASCAR Camaros on the road course....which is surprising to me. I guess they've added some downforce and aero adjustments that aren't legal in Taxi Cab racing!
You are welcomed back to the Corvette if you wish. I'll even share my setup. Just have to warn you....I'm about 3-4 seconds slower than @Andle ....so you might want to run the Ce-lica anyway. (personally, the sound of the Vette makes it worthwhile!)
