I found this very impactful, so much real passion, I get that...I have felt that way in several sims over the years, the set/combo of the track, the cars, the overall race just carried me to a new place...I have to say i haven't experienced that in some time, the last time was with my AC 1968 Trans-Am set at Riverside...

Sadly to say I haven't yet found that "zone" regardless of sim. I have tried, but whatever I do I just can't gel with most sims. Maybe it is simply a lack of skill or patience, but I basically rarely play sims anymore, and to be honest never really did.

Most of my limited "game time" TBH is farting around with the Xbox360 EA NASCAR games, which are pretty subpar in their own right, but I mainly play for pure nostalgia reasons.

Yeah, I'm very particular about how things are, especially when setting things up. But this leads into a cycle where I have idea, I try to work on idea, I burn out on idea, then repeat with another idea.

Don't be over driving this C3 GT Classic BEAST!!! AMS2 is a blast if you don't have any issues setting it up. The content they are adding is very cool too!!
View: https://youtu.be/PQot2h67Oh4
Even though I'm not much of a vintage guy myself (barely have enough skill to control a modern downforce car) I feel that the vintage cars and tracks is where AMS2 sort of comes into it's own, especially with the F1 cars, as the game compliments them with a few era accurate tracks to race on, and a good weather system. (very important for immersion, running vintage cars at modern facilities is just not the same)

Honestly I'd like to see them continue to widen the classic stuff, every sim and their mums have modern GT's, formula cars, and prototypes, but few put an emphisis on the older iron, and if they can continue to add on their old school offerings, I feel they could really carve out a solid niche. That is part of what PC2 got right, was their offering of classic and vintage racing cars, and I'd love to see what else Reiza can offer.

Edit: Also, just read the AMS2 development roadmap, and they confirmed customizing the AI driver profiles is confirmed to be coming the next few patches! Finally no more generic drivers! This alone will be worth me firing up AMS2 again and playing around with it. Also some new GT's in various classes adding some much needed variety. And I might just have to bite the bullet on the upcoming DLC just to try the madness that is 90's CART  Maybe a carset is in order............

So, what does anyone know about "Oval racing" in AMS2?? Reading the comments on the Reiza Nov. Development thread it gets mentioned, but not much detail. I suppose they're referring to the upcoming "Cart/Indy/USA" stuff that's supposed to be out soon, but again, not much detail. Thanks for any info!

The CART and Oval stuff will be seperate releases. Daytona and Indy are likely shoe ins for the Oval pack, PC2 had Texas which could be an option for the oval DLC, but reading up on the Reiza fourms, PCars had a few unreleased ovals that were developed early in the WMD backers program, but were cut when the oval racing was not up to scratch.

These were the tracks that were being worked on and tested but never saw the light of day.
Dover (Delaware)
Bristol (Memphis)
Charlotte (Concord)
Richmond (Henrico)

Yea, Daytona is an oval, but not really what I was talking about. Was more looking for info on how the oval "physics" will be, like on intermediate or short tracks. What you'll be able to adjust as far as traditional oval setup changes, like wedge, trackbar, weight distribution, etc. Also the system implementation of caution flags. Will they have full course yellows, how will the grid start and restart? Pace laps, double file, all that kinda stuff. Im sure Daytona will be fun, but just about any physics can run around Daytona. Getting the cars to handle around say, Darlington or Dover or Martinsville for instance, is a totally different animal.. Hope they put in some effort and try and pull it off though! I don't care if the cars are called "stock cars" and the tracks are "Pennsylvania and Tennessee", I'd just like to see a modern "Stock Car Racing" sim that we can play online with updated graphics AND proper physics, rules, etc. Guess we'll see.. (I've decided not to hold my breath though) x'D

In a word, no.

As long as there's no other oval racing sanctioning series willing to back another sim other then Iracing, we'll never see another proper pc based sim.

Okay, I'm looking at this on Steam. If I want to purchase this, what do I need to buy? There are several "bundles", etc. What is "Season Pass"? You guys need to help this old man figure it out!

Is it "user friendly"? Can we run online? Help!
