Me (Connor MacLeod) and my friend (Barren Guest) have been doing a basic career mode for most of the year so far, so I think it'd be interesting to post the results.
We race very often, multiple times a week.
We're currently almost a third-ways through 2002, so I'll give a quick synopsis:

2000:
Dale Earnhardt wins his eighth championship, winning 7 races followed by Gordon with 2 and an average finish of 11th, and Bobby Labonte with 6 wins and an average finish of 12th.
Bobby Labonte, your real-life champion, basically sold the entire season until the last quarter. He won the final three races.
Connor MacLeod won the Rookie of the Year honors, winning a record five races in 12th place. Barren Guest finished 4th in the competitive Rookie standings with a win. All other 2000 NASCAR rookies failed to win races.
Connor MacLeod and Barren Guest own-operate their own team, 3283 Racing. Because of the sheer amount of blown motors and DNFs in their rookie seasons, MacLeod had to leave the team for DEI in the closing races of the season facing bankruptcy.

2001:
Connor MacLeod wins the championship in his Sophomore season, winning 12 races with an average finish of eighth. He barely nudged by Dale Earnhardt, passing him in the final races.
MacLeod had a terrible start to the season, in the first six races winning nothing and finishing in the bottom half of the field in each one.
He turned it around though, as during the summer stretch, MacLeod went nine straight races of finishing in the top-2.
Unlike his teammate, Barren Guest had an excellent start to the season, as he won four of the first six races.
He wouldn't win for the rest of the season but would stay consistent for the rest of it and finish 7th in points.
Dave Blaney passed away from injuries sustained at Chicagoland after Matt Kenseth made a miscalculation and Blaney hit the outside wall head-on.
Soon after, Michael Waltrip would have a career ending crash at Charlotte after getting hit in the Driver's side by Kurt Busch.

2002: Ongoing

--NOTES:--
We use Radmin for multiplayer, Cup2000 for cup, PWF_GNS for Busch, and PWF_CTS for trucks. (We've only started running the last 2 series this season.)
We use Score4 for standings and NRatings to get realistic driver performance.

Dale Earnhardt wins at Martinsville after half the field was involved in a wreck
MacLeod's lead is so big he could miss the next four races and still win the cup.

Looks like you're never gonna lose the title again unless you raise the difficulty. Are you avoiding that because it will be harder for your friend, or do you just like dominating? Lol

Also, is Jason Keller in the #15 now? He got a lucky win somewhere, haha. 1 win, 1 top 5, and 3 top 10's in 32 races.

RIP Dave Blaney.

Me and my friend signed Keller on our team so he has better stuff. I'm able to make better setups which is the reason why the win count is that high, but we're planning on locking the setups for half the races next season.

MacLeod wins another one because of long-run speed and pit strategy. Guest finishes 2nd after leading the first half of the event,
