Hi,
I just wanted to try doing something with the dashboard in the
FCRD 2022 Mod.

I unpacked the DAT file, saved the dash mip as a bmp and also tried tga
using winmip2 painted the gauges, converted back to mip, then used makedat to repack the dat, I did drop it
and double click on makedat to get the pck file and then used winmip2
to repack it.

Problem is the dash is still the same even though I painted the mip, it is still white,
I used this as just a test:
CV_NCS_Gauges.jpg
Gauges are still white. The mod works no problem.
I did notice the dash mip was a little more than 2,000 kb
before I painted it and after converting back to mip it was 331 kb
but the DAT file grew another 8,000 kb. That's a HMMMM! What?

I don't see any dashboard tuts out there at all,

Yet it is still the same white gauged dash.

Thanks for any help
Steve

@SteveMack With regards to N2k3... you DON'T need to repack the dat. Once unpacked, you can add the new files (.mips, .stp) directly into the folder and the game will read the new file instead of the .dat.

I updated my dash, so it can be done:

The other issue why a mip may not show, is make sure the winmip2 settings are the same for the new file:

First, Thank You For The Help.
What I first noticed was in your folder you used CV_Gages
what I did was I used CV_NCS_Gauges, I thought for some reason
that that was a better choice.
If you had not put that up I would have probably kept using the CV_NCS_Gauges.
Also the advice on just unpacking was fantastic, now I understand how
others would say if you don't want to use it anymore you can just delete it.
Thanks Again
Steve
