When I am editing any track (default tracks) the object placement view dialog box fails to appear when selected (see screenshot). I can interact with objects on the track, but they do not appear in the edit box, as no box appears. Sandbox *tries* to open it (see screenshot) but fails to do so. There is no floating box on my screen as there is for geometry editing view and so on. For the record, I am editing default NR2003 tracks and have unpacked both the track and shared dats in the same working folder.\

Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

IIRC, if the track ptf call for the objects to be in a “shared” folder, the unpacked shared files still have to be in a folder named “shared”.

Hm. I did some testing and installed sandbox on a laptop I had around. I can take the same track folders, unpack everything (track.dat and shared.dat) in the same way, and sandbox opens with the TSO dialog box opening correctly.

On my desktop, I have tried reinstalling sandbox, installing it on a different drive (flash drive), among other things. It will not open the object placement view (TSO) box at all!

For the record, I've been editing tracks for some time, and I know for certain I have used TSO editing in Sandbox just fine in the past. Is there any workaround short of reinstalling my whole OS (or using a different machine, which is not sustainable as I cannot really play the game on that laptop)?

I think you're describing the same problem i always have when working on tracks w/ large #s of tsos.

Right click over the ptf window and select "ADD a tso". Then just cancel. Everything pops up correctly after that. Have had this problem for nearly 2 decades...

Interesting... I'll try this if it happens again. I couldn't figure it out so I ended up reformatting my desktop...
