is there a way to import a background image into sandbox

I'm learning my way around sandbox, I can do a simple oval pretty easily, or at least the path for it and track surface/grass. I'm trying to do the BIR 3.1 mile road course. as far as road courses go, the layout should be pretty easy, no elevation change, plenty of reference images. I'm just not skilled enough to freehand it, unless that's not what I'm supposed to do. I see an option under the adjust tab that says background image. I was wondering if I could import a background image like a track layout to basically just follow the track.
If there is a way to do this or this is the normal way, I would like to know

Sandbox Background Image Help

I found a post (On this website) that showed how to make a background image such as the example below. When I followed the instructions and tried to open the background image, nothing worked. Went back a read it again and still no result. I would had replied to that post but the creators...

You should be able to figure it out from this. .....I have used Google map image before and got it scaled pretty close.
