I have recently got back into NR2003 and love the FCRD Next Gen mods and the up to date car sets......The problem that I'm having is not really serious, it's just that over the years I have accumulated a lot of modded tracks. For example I have about 5 Daytona and and about 4 Las Vegas versions. I am planning to start a season running the Next Gen cars but I always get derailed by jumping around trying to find the best track for each event. Some are great graphics while other provide better racing. I now have a high end computer, so graphic quality is not an issue in regard to frame rate. What I'm really looking for is the most immersive experience. For example, I recently raced at the most up to date Atlanta. I started at the back and drove to a win in 50 laps at 100% strength. This was using the CTS physics. I want a tougher race than that.

I plan on sorting through my tracks and looking for the best for graphics and racing AI. I suppose I'm just being lazy, but I wouldn't mind other people's view on the best tracks available in an attempt to speed this process up. Also there might be other versions to what I have. I should mention, I have all the BR Tracks, but their graphics have become a bit dated.

Anyway....any and all suggestions welcome

These Tracks Here are graphic heavy, I have noticed that you will have to do some setup changes on some of them to keep from spinning out, you will find that you are very loose on the fast setups.

there is no perfect track, only what you think is the perfect track.

era tracks (especially) are all going to be different depending on what type of racing you want out of it.

BB-MC and WKC tracks are some of the top graphic designers, but the tracks might be too heavy for most users.

HTH :)

The guy above me was spot on with BB-MC and WKC. My personal favorites are from BB-MC. Their tracks are honestly to the same quality as IRacing it seems. Just blows me away.
Makes me enjoy the feel of the game more.

The "best" tracks are truly a matter of opinion

I would suggest a longer race if I was you. My Atlanta races as example, are 35-40% length so around 134 laps. This ensures at least 1 pitstop which can change what happens during a race. Every track I use is has a modified track.ini to assist in the competitive level I seek. Sometimes I find the AI is too tough for me to have a chance; other tracks are the very opposite. Additionally, I have found the rating formula used can make a difference as well. For years I used Masgrafx formula for all 3 Nascar series. Recently, I switched to a different formula (forget at the moment the name) but it has made the AI much more challenging and fun to race against.

I use the NRating web site with the real names of the drivers for the event. I agree the quality of the racing varies from track to track. I usually race about 100 laps or so and I think it was Atlanta, I couldn't qualify better than about 30th at 100%. Then at Rockingham I nearly lapped the field at 100%. It's hard to find the sweet spot consistently where I qualify mid-pack and can run with the leaders. It takes a bit of juggling but it is worth it in the long run. I'm slowly working my way through a series with the Aero88 cars and establishing a good strength for good racing. I don't want to win, but just to be a top 10 car in the field. I had a good race at California. Started 30 or so and worked my way up to 12th before I messed up a pit stop and a restart. That was pretty much ideal.
I don't mess around with track ini file much. I just alter the AI strength if I can't keep up with back markers. If I can stay in the field and race my way forward, I am happy with that. You are right. it is very subjective, dependant on my ability and setup. There probably is no silver bullet solution for the best racing in NR2003.
