as it turns out, that's the right place but I needed "enable_CarMegaShader=0" and things are back to normal. compared to player.ini from my old computer. apparently I did a bit of tweaking in random places thanks for gettin me there once again, John! edit: that's what she said

just installed on a new laptop and I can't turn off "reflections on cars" only thing different is this install wasn't from the disc (no drive) but for years I've been able to turn it off as I choose (on far less capable computers) any ideas?

I'm still learning gimp, but occasionally I use https://vectormagic.com to clean up logos. it works decent enough but maybe not if you're looking to learn the "right" way haha

The "main toolbox" being docked is why I couldn't see it. I guess it was smooshing it down. Thanks for your help, anyway!

The main viewport is usually where my cursor is, in that big open area...just not for the SST files

I downloaded the SST zMod files from TMS and whenever I open the z3d file, the main viewport is nonexistent. The "top" and "side" wiremeshes show up like normal, but the main viewport is not there. I've tried everything I can manage on my own and looked for help elsewhere. Posted over on TMS...

I just started using Max '16 and I'm having some of these same issues with the backgrounds. Either the background renders huge and distorted or not at all...
