SO, I went ahead and purchased Fraps, how do I go about compressing the avi file down to a smaller size. I've tried every one of the settings in the Fraps program, but the file is still pretty big. One lap at Charlotte night is 576mb in size. Using win 7 pro and don't have the essentials add on for it.

You shouldn't have a problem uploading that to YouTube, that's actually small compared to the ones I'm trying to upload now and have uploaded in the past.

FRAPS uses it's own non compression Video Codec when recording to prevent video capture degradation thus resulting in crisp and very large video sizes. To reduce the file size you will either need some editing software or a free program like SUPER or good old VirtualDub and convert the FRAPS video.

Edit: To add to my post. I just converted a 2.2GB FRAPS AVI video down to a 72MB AVI video using VirtualDub and the Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec V2. Not the best Codec for quality but still acceptable.

Don't know if win7 has access to the Windows store, but I just download and used AllConverter Pro to reduce the size of a Assetto Corsa video and it worked great.
