This problem has only persisted for a few days, as it started to happen very recently.
Every time I would run Nr2003 and enter the track (initiating the 3D graphics engine), something weird happens. The game runs completely normal, around 100~ fps with everything loaded in including opponent cars. About 15 seconds in, the framerate starts to decrease in "jolts" - the game lowers the fps every quarter of a second. 2 minutes later into the session, the framerate could be anywhere from 20 to 5 fps.
However, if I press F to bring up the framerate counter, it spikes back up to 50-100 fps for a split second in between the jolts, indicating that my PC is capable of running the game at a target framerate.
This problem affects the whole game - I have tried it through a variety of mods and tracks (including the original Cup on vanilla tracks) on different graphical settings, but nothing seems to affect it. The framerate slowly steps down one by one with a split second of normal framerate in between.
I did multiple trials with Task Manager open as well, and it does not seem to be an issue regarding my CPU, disk or memory usage.
Does anybody know why this is happening?
I can try and record a video to clarify my description.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
