Yyyeaaaaahhhh... that's not happening.

But this is what is happening:
The white part is marked as water... which I don't have a texture for yet, but the course layout and pitstop are finished. Banking and elevation are not going to be fun to make for this track. Hence why I procrastinated 4 days...

I mean, if you have a personal owned copy of NASCAR Kart Racing on the Wii and use that copy's ISO onto Dolphin, you can get the game's textures through Dolphin's Dump Texture feature.

It's not the textures, it's the outlandish layouts that'd take too much time to make.

I was talking about the track I'm currently working on, Lakeshore, from Nascar 2000. That's what the picture is of.
Plus, they are making the tracks they want. The Tracks in NASCAR Kart are not very suitable for NR. You are welcome to try, but I don't see it happening.
This guy gets it.

So considering I have no real measurement to work with, I think I'll start out with a track length of 1 mile for Stadium and work my way up or down from there. It is a fairly small circuit, but not tiny.
With the length at a mile, I was getting lap times of around 30 seconds. The pit stop is on the backstretch like the original, but obviously it's not the same format.
As for the progressive banking, it starts at 0 degrees, and I'm thinking I'll go from 5-7.5 degrees, to 12.5ish degrees, to 20 degrees, all the way up to 45-ish at the end?

Post release note: maybe someday I could make the track 2/3 of a mile, wonder how that would feel opposed to a mile.

Shooting Hoops improvement wishlist: AKA the "I wanna make the front stretch look nicer" wishlist

Generic overhead banners: would use on this track twice and any other track that has them (i.e. Caprio, Pine Hills), making custom mips for them as well.
1613891439303.png
Filling in the empty space between angled walls: Probably not possible the way things are currently...
1613890843186.png
Thick and long overhead concrete: would need two unique but identical 3dos; one for the "Shooting Hoops" text and the other for the "Real Racing Roots '99" text. They could just be super long rectangles for all I care.
1613891057653.png
Frontstretch wall mips: would have to make these from scratch, using in-game screenshots to assist me. Would use texture segmenting to apply like I did with Red Rock.
1613891022583.png
Video screen animation: currently I have placed an object called video_screen.3do that uses the truck_jumbotron mips. However, my video screen doesn't animate for some reason and I don't know why. Regardless, changing mip #1 to a still frame of this Galaxian animation would be good enough for me.

Lakeshore.jpgI wish you luck in all of that!

As for Lakeshore, I feel you've made major improvements with this track.

While I wish more Carnival like atmospheric objects existed, I can't say that I didn't enjoy this track!

I loved driving this track, and even having it to where if you crashed into the lake, it was a DNF? It's fantastic!

Only flaw is that 2 of your cameras on TV2 are in weird spots/angles. One is pointed at the crowd and the other the infield. Other than that, you did a great job on this track!

Glad you enjoyed it! Nice censored carset, by the way...

You never got back to me on whether you were satisfied with TV2 on Shooting Hoops or not.

Also... new paint!

That set? It's the Cup 99 for Cup 98 mod by Thunder98

I am very satisfied with both tracks and the camera work. You've come a long way! I can't wait for you to applied it to the DD2 Tracks when they get another update.

I wasn't the only painter on that set. RicardoG, MajesticExpress, SpiderTre, Marottam75, and Slippy all had hands in making it too.
Because you posted it, that's why I said you. But otherwise, I'm working on my own set. I got time today, so I'm gonna be doing that.

This will be the Motorland post then. I'll update it as I'm working on it.

It is 0.83 of a mile, 9 turn road course at the fictional Driving Park facility, home to Test Course, Beginner Course, and Gymkhana as well. The predecessor, Motor Sports Land, from Gran Turismo 2's time trial mode, is even smaller, at 0.55 of a mile, or 888 meters. I made Motor Sports Land into a drift track with Gran Turismo 6's course maker back in the day.

Track width appears to be about 10 meters...

2/21 9:30 pm: Basic wall and texture placement complete.
1613964882141.png
2/21 10:40 pm: Detailed wall and texture placement complete. First on-track test comes next. After that will be pit stop placement.
1613968877964.png
2/22 12:09 am: Finished making pit stop after first test. Initial measurements indicate a full 43 car field may be possible. Finer details come next, including elevation.
1613974209840.png
2/22 2:16 am: Did most of the track.ini work, made the track elevation, and made trkshot.stp.
2/22 7:07 am: Made the LPs, edited the cam file, placed the track surface decals, and did the SPCC sections.
2/23 2:51 am: Finished infield and outfield banking and additional details, made trklogo.stp.

Having the last 5 days of downloads deleted is really annoying...

Regardless, I think Motorland will come out today. I just have TSOs to go.

Test Course.png

After this track, I'm thinking of Apricot Hill, Seattle, or even Blue Moon Bay from Gran Turismo Sport. I know it's like a Pocono clone, but I'm still interested.
