converting day track into night track

so ive been trying to find a good way to make a night version of Carsland Speedway but so far i havent had much success.
i did turn on night track checkbox in nr2003 sandbox but when i ran it in the game my car was black.
i tried getting c_nsky.mip and i couldnt find it in any other track folders or the shared folder
i did edit a dtnSky.mip and placed the 3do but when i raced with that i could see the day sky from the opposite part of the track were i was at.

so does anyone have any tips that can help me out?

i figured out the mips for the sky.3do so i will just do some tinkering with that
