A few months ago I started a thread about the Jennerstown Late Models that I was working on. I have decided to delete that and create this one because I plan on creating and posting more than just my local Late Models. My first upload here at Stunod's is a template I'm pretty proud of. It's for Chevy SS and Camry Late Models. It imports on the Pontiac model. Although there have been numerous templates covering these models, my template offers a lot of variety.

CREDITS

Shading: Short Track Central (Brent Licata)/SORS/Myself

Parts: Additional parts or logos to the template, beside the basics (such as ignition box), were made by myself using my own photos or photos/logos from the respective businesses. Chrome layer courtesy Brian Simpson.

Render: The Mod Squad

Description: This template was created to produce newer ABC Template Late Models for the LMPv2 mod for NASCAR Racing 2003 Season. The template features details to represent the Chevrolet SS or Toyota Camry seen at local short tracks throughout the country. It is to be imported ONLY to the Pontiac model. Importing to other models will result in features possibly not lining up properly.

Features: Unlike racing vehicles of major racing series, Late Models do not have one set design. Many features differ from car to car. This template not only allows the painter to produce a certain make of car but offers many options as well. Included are different fuel fillers, exhaust plates, windshield banners (ASA Stars, SRL National, SRL Spears SW Tour, Southern Super Series, 56th Snowball Derby – 2023 ), and tire decals (Hoosier *3*, American Racer, McCreary).

Perhaps the most appealing features of this template are the various spoilers available. The most common spoiler used today comes in aluminum and black. There are three different support rods which can be used with either spoiler base: aluminum, black and thinner rod. Note that there is also a corresponding top spoiler located on the template. Be sure to select the correct pair. There is also an old school spoiler and a white spoiler with their own, but separate, support rods. All of these components can be mixed and matched, however, since they are separate layers on the template.

The template is now posted. Here are more photos of the template.

TWO FOR ONE.
I typically only paint cars which I've taken photos of at the track. Most have been from Jennerstown Speedway and tracks within the region. I tried painting cars basely solely on photos I've saved and logos that I could find on the internet. I call them "internet" cars. I painted a handful about 15 years ago and SWORE I wouldn't do it again. Well.... never say never. Think I'll paint up some 2024 Super and Pro Late Models that I feel aren't too difficult to do. Once I have completed a few, I'll release a bundle. I am NOT looking to do any particular 2024 race or series. What I do is what I do. Any NextGen Late Model or CARS/Late Model Stock will have to wait until I create a template to my liking. Anyways.... these two were easy since they're essentially the same. John Bolen's ASA Stars Late Model and Pro Late Model for Ben Kennedy Racing.

I'm not a real big fan of fictional short track cars with big corporate sponsors. You just don't see that much these days. However, Cale Yarborough passed away while I was updating my LMPv2 Pontiac template. So, I thought I'd make a tribute car with a more modern look. It's now posted here. Now.... back to painting REAL cars and updating templates.

Finished three Pro Late Models. #28 Isabella Robusto, #71 Katie Hettinger and #29 Hunter Wright. The Wright car is his backup that he won in at New Smyrna to claim the championship. His primary car has a NextGen body. It was in a crash in the previous race. For the Hettinger car, I had to make new spoiler support brackets. Fortunately, I had a photo of them from the ones I take at Jennerstown.
