I just recently had gotten a computer again to where I can paint and I've been finding myself wanting to do some other stuff then simply painting the current season's bases.

I was inspired by listening to the Dale Jr. Download episode with Robbie Reiser when they mentioned a certain sponsorship and scheme. So I looked it up as I couldn't remember it. I liked the scheme so I made the base.

So first up is the base that I painted. It's from the 1998 Busch Series Season. The #92 Kraft car ran part time that season with several drivers.


And here's the latest one I've done. It's Steve Park's Pennzoil scheme. I know it's a Cup scheme on the NXS20 mod but I feel like that mod better represents what NASCAR was then compared to the NCS22.



Right now I'm kinda looking at recreating more schemes from the late 90's as it's my favorite era from NASCAR. 1998 was really the year that I became fully invested in watching the sport and it was a great year (especially being an Earnhardt fan). So I'm probably going to be doing a lot of bases from that point first.

I plan to make a version of Michael Waltrip's NAPA scheme but I'm probably going to hold off until tomorrow.

I'm continuing to paint still but am holding off at the moment on posting files for download. I'm trying to get some other tasks taken care of first.

But here's two more I've painted in the last few days.

First up, the famous GM Goodwrench scheme that Dale Earnhardt drove from 1988 up until his death in 2001.


And then we have Terry Labonte's Kellogg's scheme that he used from 1994-1999.

Next up in the pipeline is the imfamous Speedblock scheme. This was driven by Darrelll Waltrip early in the 1998 until he pulled their logos due to non payment. It wasn't long after that that he sold the team to Tim Beverley.

I'm waiting to hear back from GoDaddy.
It's something on their end. They use a program called Plesk for the file manager. I can access it but it's giving me errors when I try to view the code for page and when I try to delete something.

It's like the code is getting corrupted somehow. A 500 server error often means something is wrong with the code, such as missing quotation marks. But this error should've only showed up if I had uploaded a page like that. It started doing this this morning though when I had not uploaded anything. Everything was fine when I went to bed.

With the Daytona 500 coming up I realized I wanted to do something for it. So starting on February 1st I'm starting what I'm calling RRD Speedweeks over at Retro Racing Designs. I'm going to be releasing bases of past Daytona 500 winning cars. 1-2 bases a day will be released.
I'm going to post renders of the schemes here that will be released during that time.
