Some updates. To start with, we are now at 100+ cars.
Jimmy Means research has been deep. The number of car variations he had in 1992 was just absurd. I feel like I'm trying to keep up with a driver in 2024. lol. Anyways, I ended up getting some assistance from some folks, including a friend of the owner of Suburban Printery. The results of that assistance uncovered several uncertainties on other cars, as well. Because of that, I've updated a few of the cars I'd already completed for Jimmy.
Research has also uncovered a couple of cars that weren't recorded by Racing Reference. For example, the car below ran the second Daytona race, but the sponsorship was not noted in the final results. Additionally, I wasn't aware that Suburban Printery actually sponsored both Michigan races, for the same reason. The 2nd race didn't have him marked as being sponsored. This isn't uncommon, but it can make research a pain in the ass.
With that said, there will be 1 or 2 Jimmy cars I simply cannot do. There's just not enough available references to make anything accurate. But, a majority of them are identical outside of the sponsor being slapped on the car after qualifying into the event. So, oh well. There's currently 8 Jimmy cars (9 if you include the Brad Teague). He's well represented. I still have 2 of his cars left, too, before doing the cars for the other drivers that drove for him that year.
With that said, I'm really excited to move onto the next number and oh that's right it's 20234587293784 more #53 Jimmy means cars!!
Oh, and I just remembered I had forgotten to add the red layers to my Snap-On Racing sticker. Dammit.
(You'll note the car below doesn't contig-wise match the photo. Images I grab from the carviewer are generally before the car is actually finished)
