Maybe trying to simulate a rain race? Could be fun, could be disaster. lol Probably separate the field even further though.. 150% tire wear could be cool, especially in these long races, but the Caddy doesn't have tire wear in the mod. :'(

Holy crap you guys doing 30+ laps practice! I would keep myself too sore to race if I did that too much. :p
Don't have the patience to do that many by myself, get bored LOL.
Would be a bit of waste of my time cuz every day it is a bit different, depends on my reactions on the day of the race. :)
If I cannot get used to something somewhat soon it probably is not going to work with me. I just cannot seem to change my reactions very much, my output is my output and that is that.

The cars felt a bit more normal on Laguna. :)

Nice times guys! I think, not sure what is good there.
Peace!

30 laps is pretty light for most leagues... Luckily we aren't too serious and just do this for fun
You wonder why certain guys are so quick? a lot of it comes from pounding out laps. they have run tens of thousands of laps over the course of their simracing journey in different styles of cars at all types of tracks. This is what allows them to jump in anything and be fast even when they don't seem to practice. They have not only have whatever practice they have done in the race's car/track combo, but they also have all the laps from cars in that specific style and that track. For example, I have over 500 laps at watkins glen between momentum style cars and prototype cars. if we ever go to the glen I have all that experience to pull from, but if we drive momentum cars at another track I can still pull from my laps at the glen because I have knowlege of momentum cars and how they behave. It's all about building your knowledge bank so you have more info and experience to pull from. everything you drive teaches you something and any new car you drive you start to make connections on car behavior and you start to refine your driving style.
No substitute for seat time

@Andle , you are exactly right.....and speaking only for myself, that is a major dilemma. While I may or may not have the time to put in laps, I don't do it...by my own choice. I have neither the ambition nor desire to become an "ace" sim racer. I have other hobbies (golf, scale modeling, etc. ) that I want to spend some of my free time on.

I have been a big fan of the Prototype cars, and voiced that I wanted to run them for a long time, but for some reason these cars have changed.....it doesn't even feel like the same car that I tested and drove so well at Daytona. Add to that the full damage setting, hour long races, and my lack of practice on these tracks, and the result is simply frustration. When I first joined up with the Zoom bunch, our races were fun, I looked forward to them all week. That's not the case now, and I'm struggling with how to proceed.

I long for the days that we all had light hearted fun, didn't matter what cars we were in. Remember how much fun it was to run in a draft pack on the oval with the Indy cars? Those kind of things were really fun. Heck, I would even consider some kind of Nascar (NO, not NR2K) thing fun now....but the way it's going, I'm not sure.

At this time, our family is sharing enough stress with each other....frustration on Wednesday nights doesn't need to be added to the load for me, and especially Trae. Your positive thoughts, etc. are appreciated, and it will get better. Thanks for understanding.

Yeppers, mostly what John said. Hope things are going well with your Family John @C5Volzfan .
"" it doesn't even feel like the same car that I tested and drove so well at Daytona. ""
So it is not just me!!! Ha. I thought I had driven them before and had them work with me better at one time also.

Yeah, I don't want to make a career out of SimRacing LOL. :) Want to have fun! :p

"" No substitute for seat time "" Yes, practice can make or get you closer to perfection or your goal etc..
But, double dilemma I have, too much practice and(more so my right) foot can get sore and kinda tingly numb like something beat it up on the ball of the foot behind the toes.

Also it just does not work for me that way. Many laps do not add to some non-volatile data array within my brain to be recalled without error at will.
Some of the feel of it will stick with me, I get to remember the track if I am lucky and just will mostly only know that OK this corner comes up before I can see it and I need to slow down somewhere earlier.

I almost never can go back to a track after any time and remember much of the nuances of it and any ways I drove on it.
I get an overall feeling from a track I had been at and often will basically forget exactly how it went until I run some laps again.
The very next day I may feel different.

I am not like one of those early robotic toys where you put this pre-made shaped disk type thing in it and it runs exactly that path...
I am better with physical things that have physical logical things to remember, and I forget that stuff too but I understand things and just figure it out again.

If my memory were like some, I would have the Game program I am working on done now as I would not have to keep re-figuring so many things.
My brain can be very annoying, but can be cool if I just had the tools and all I needed to create more of what is within me.
I get tired of complaining, just want to do well and wish I were more productive for others as well as myself.

OK I end up getting so much stuck onto myself. My Anxiety is very demanding, My ADHD and it want to keep fed with ways to create and express and give more. Just been quite bummed more so yet than usual lately. A bit of a family dilemma as our close Cousin passed away leaving Charlie, her husband alone, he had a stroke recently and can hardly talk and is wheelchair bound. She was not taking care of bills properly and there is a mess. Overcharged cards, not enough money to pay caregivers now, misplaced info we need. We have to sell their house for Charlie to have money to live, we are moving him to a good care facility nearby, same that we had GrandPa at. Not a crap hole, very nice people, great food etc etc...
They live quite far away so it is hard. So many mixed up messes. on top of all the rest. Anyway....

Bill does a good job of keeping something going, I think a bit of what we want is maybe just not out there or we have not found it. Hope your trip is going great! @Highbank

If it were not so money driven and were more pride driven like in NR2003, MCO and such days we would have what we want but they go easy and sell out now.
Old programming was more raw, now they use development platform A(so to speak), Like Unity and such, this and that Pre-made API and many modules that are already a thing instead of more so making every bit and using some routines for sound and a few things maybe.

If not for iRacing we may have had a community built renewed NR2003, man I would love to have the actual code!! And be able to work on it without a greedy bastard getting on one's case.

anyway, take care all!

Hmm, Bummer. Would my settings file help maybe? Or wonder if something amiss on the server.
I remember there were a few settings that were causing problems at certain places only but, I forget which ones.. not sure if it is a similar problem. Would not think this would cause a checksum error though.

@phantom17 @The_Tigg I got on fine. Not sure it has to do with the CSP but certainly possible. Here's what Im running on the ol' potato. (Damn right, Im running IT ALL!!!) x'D
CM v0.8.2561.39678
CSP v0.1.80-preview218
SOL v2.2.9
Pure v0.180a_Highres
Running Pure, PPF Pure Candy

There's an order and process that needs to be followed to correctly install this stuff:

If you use CSP 0.1.80preview218 you must then update to CM v0.8.2561 or newer
You must then update Sol to 2.2.9 or newer https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sol.24914/update/107235/ and/or You must update Pure to 0.180a or newer https://www.patreon.com/posts/pure-0-180a-fix-84102123

In this version of CM and CSP, the WeatherFX Controller is moved to the Drive menu in the weather selection.
