Zoom AMS2 Testing Info

It takes about 5 seconds to get a server up and running.


The more you overthink the plumbing the easier it is to stop up the drain.

I have had another up since the other day. ZOOM Test, it is in the list. And it is easy to get a canned server going but I am on a real controlled by me server that I have to install whatever is going to run on it. And we are working on that Liveview thing. Did you look at it? info is a few posts back.

I have a Windows server 2019 server rented. I put NR2003 on it myself, I did not get a preinstalled NR server. Same with AMS2. I had to install and setup the Dedicated server software. There is more control this way.
I could possibly run an NR2003 server AND AMS2 at the same time on it LOL. Just need to start both server softwares and see.
The Liveview I had put in my Webspace and is communicating with the Dedicated server software that is running on the Windows 2019 server.
There are some stats that show in the dedicated server. I just figured this out in the last few days so I am not sure what all else can be done and how but I may be able to work out something similar to AC, dunno.
Resting a bit between some things I need to do.

OK Guys, I was able to get the dedicated server working! No one has to keep a computer running.
I may be able to install that Livestats thing maybe also now to my webspace if I/we can figure it out.

Server should always stay up. "ZOOM TEST" Same PW as other.

This is on a VPS that is not a canned buy it AMS or NR2003 etc server. it is a blank Microsoft Server 2019 and you install what you are going to be using. Costs less than the pre-made deals and you are in total control.
More options this way.

I just logged on to "Zoom Test". Password let me in, and chose a car, but then it just says "wait". Never let me run any laps. Showed me as well as you (Blitz) on the server, but it never let me on the track. Just says wait.

For what it's worth: Trae and myself both ran a bunch of laps in AMS2 (offline) yesterday afternoon. Don't know if any of you have tried any of the GTE cars or not, but we can both tell you that the C8R is awesome. Running against the AI set at 95 (same class, BMWs, Porsches, etc.), it's challenging and a real blast! The AI in this game are light years better than the old RF ones I used to practice against.

@Blitzman Duane, seems like you have the "live" timing part figured out. Now, does it store the completed session anywhere? If we can get that part sorted out it'll be pretty close to the AC stuff, similar to how the Emperor/Penguin server does here: Zoom AMS2 Results

@Blitzman I was on yesterday in the evening around 6 pm est did practice, qualify and race sessions. Did it show that? When I clicked on the timing link you posted after the session I got the demo page

Yes, There is persistent data from a few places. Just trying to figure out how to bring it out and display it. The server(the MS DS software) itself stores some data, it is in JSON though and I am having a hard time trying to parse it out, I had done something with JSON data before but this is not cooperating this time.
The Server admin pages also show some stats also and I can access them from the internet. I may be able to write some server side code to grab the relevant info off the page, have the code add the necessary HTML around it to make it a proper page and have it save that somewhere accessible.
Not as much info but it has lap times etc.

I wish I had a younger brain LOL, not quite as easy to concentrate on all this as it used to be, but gotta keep exercising the thought muscle.

His server may have the info saved Mike, but the live timing page only shows data (as far as I know) while someone is actually on running.. I started the game, then went to my laptop and loaded the livetiming page to get the picture I posted. It's a little complicated at first (trying to do it by reading text here) so I'll make a quick video here in a second so everyone can check it out if they want.

Here is a bit of JSON data showing Mike on. I saw Angry was on also at some point.



JSON.parse( theDataName or request ) is not working for me for some reason.
I will look at what DK led me to soon, looks good.

Well, I can't join either Zoom server now.. Both disconnect me after I enter the password saying "disconnected from multiplayer session. Existing session" But I can join other servers?
