Hi everyone!

When working with images, sometimes when you import them into your template via cut and paste or drag, the image you have just brought over may not look as good as you hoped or stand out the way you wanted or have jagged edges....There are several ways to make your image look better on your template, two of which I will touch on.

1. On some images which have relatively smooth edging, you can use layer stroke command and choose a brighter color for the stroke or darker depending on your template design. There are various adjustments you can make to make the stroke command have different effects...Just have to play with them a bit to get the effect you want.

2. On some images which have somewhat jagged edges, the outer glow command under layers is the best way to go. That way the jagged edges go away a bit and the image looks better. When you click on outer glow it will give you a default yellow coloring. I have found that with black and red images, that default color works best. On other image colors, changing the outer glow to white makes the image stand out better. As with Stroke there are other adjustments you can make to get your imported image to look as good as possible.

These are just 2 examples of things you can do from layers....The fun part is experimentation to see what the different effects do. As always back up and save often as you go along so you don't waste hours of work if you get a power blink or your paint program crashes. Hope this helps...I am by no means a graphics expert, just learned a thing or two by trial and error. I have Photoshop and I know for sure that I have the barest of understandings of what that program can actually do.

Another thing to mention is that if you get in trouble or are stuck on something, there are many of us who would be willing to answer questions or help you out. Just find the right part of the forums to ask and eventually you will get an answer....The NR2003 community is all about making each other better and putting out a great product for all to use.

Happy painting!
