Honestly, at first I thought it was awful. But after they showed the final models, I kind of liked it, but I preferred the numbers to be in the middle of the cars with contingencies too.

I never liked the Gen5/6, I always thought they were horrible especially the asymmetrical rear and other things, skirts for example. I actually liked more the first generation COT, and thats it.

From Gen1 to Gen4 I like them all.

Maybe it takes getting used too. Big difference between 2021 & 2022 but I'll wait to see them race at Daytona before I have an opinion. At least we still have the old school cars to race with in NR2003.

I like the new cars, they look a lot more like street versions now, kind of like road racing versions like GT3 or GT4 racing. Not completely sold on number placement yet.

The number placement is great when teams use it right, but a lot of them haven't. Overall, nothing upsets me about the new cars, but I'll wait for the racing product next month to really decide if I
like the next gens or not.

I like the new cars my issue is the number placement. If they wanted the side to be a billboard then move the numbers to the back window. Like with the touring cars. The touring cars have some of the best paint jobs ever.

This. I don't care if the numbers are centered, but I think they look all sorts of wrong/stupid up front.

Need to be moved up to the back side windows like in Touring cars. Touring car sponsors get the most bang for their buck than in any other motorsport venue.

I don't much like the number placement either, if they made them smaller like on the Cole Custer test car I could maybe tolerate it.

Don't be mad with me, but I think a good option besides the side windows, is put it on the front glass. Maybe a pair of numbers in that banner on top of the windshield, with the driver name in the center, between the numbers.

Don't let Rollo hear you say this lol. If I had to choose between the number being up front or on the window I would have to go with up front. They are really hard to see and most sports that use them standardize the number font to make them slightly easier to see.

Some teams do a great job with the number placement, but I think designers of these schemes are so used to the old placement that they just haven't gotten used to making a good scheme with it (or the teams aren't good at picking the good scheme out of the bunch, it's not like it is all the designer's fault)

Think about it do you really look at the number of the car or the paint scheme? Think about what attracts you to a car it's the scheme.

Completely understand that sentiment, and part of the problem with other series (like SuperCars or the Peak Mexico Series) is that they often have two cars with the exact same scheme, so it is tough to pick out which one is which.

But my feeling is that it would be less of a problem in NASCAR if this was still before the mid 2000s when all the cars had the same scheme the whole year. It is kind of tough picking out which car you are looking at when there all these one off schemes every race. Plus the number has become a big part of the team's identity, I can get around the number moving, but I still want to be able to see it.

That is just me though, I can definitely admit that you can get some great schemes where the number doesn't get in the way.

Don't like the number placement... Terrible.

After watching Daytona testing, I think racing at Daytona will be pretty good, Lots of passing, but IT'S the other tracks I'm interested in, is it going to be follow the leader or who can drive a really loose car when the tires get old. Since teams can't change springs, shocks or build any suspension parts of their own, not much they can do to make car handle .. I'm afraid it's just going to be a bunch of Kit Cars racing each other .
