Test session/scheme shakedown:

Going to have Gillette again as my sponsor for '00. Scheme is a combo of my '98 Gillette & Mach 3.

Thank you @Thunder98 for Phoenix 2K. It's been great running there...

Yeah I had a buddy from 4WD that helped paint the mod release carset who showed me a couple of cars where the rear bumper was a royal pain. All I can say is good luck lol.

You have an idea in your head of how you want a scheme to look...

It's 50/50 how on those pixels will turn out, lol.

While it might not be original using a base scheme from another car (unless it really does match the sponsor), I'm happy with the fit for my '00 Busch ride. I needed a Coleman to keep those Busch beers cold.

I was going to type 'revisiting' but I never started.

Most of the work was already done. SRD temp with added personal details.

I stepped away from N2k3 during 2009... life, work... Arca Sim Racing, LOL.

So I never messed with the COT spoiler in '10 or paint anything for '11 or 12'. Got back into N2k3 painting for the BR_Gen6 in 2013. But I didn't return to league racing N2k3 until last year during Covid lockdown. Had not raced N2k3 online for about 11 years...

I wasn't happy with that was already available, so I remade it with the same source image. My rotor image was off center also. With some guestimation, multiply saves & replay watching, centered to 1 pixel.

Still need to add some shadows.

I don't want to be overly critical of people's work, but far too much of 'being the first' and 'getting it out there' along with re-releasing other's work without proof reading the fine details. I expect more from template makers as that can make or break a mod.

With all the insanely hi res images of the Next Gen cars out there (you don't normally get that)... we are talking 8K, 20+mb images... there is no reason for lack of photo quality, realistic templates. /rant

Anyway, today I've been mostly working the skirts:

The reason for the 1 vent is I'm going to run it as a 'hybrid mashup' template. New features, but using the model of the Ford. I may not run the vent & exhaust on the left as the mod is right side only.

Maybe:

While I agree, I think part of it is experience and skill. On the spectrum of painter's quality, very few start out focused on immaculate detail, and so it tends to take a little longer to gain the skills necessary to put out that highly detailed work. While I applaud your jumping into the deep end with detail from the moment you started posting in these forums, I also have to give credit to those that do put out work, even if less detailed, because they will not gain those skills by leaving it to those few with an already higher skill set

I'm guilty of this....`29` Gonna hafta revisit my Ram. I made the temp when I was still new to Photoshop and NR2003. I didn't know what the pen tool was at the time and was using the eraser tool to get the grille out of the picture I was using, LMAO! I was erasing pixel by pixel, LOL. You can see where I made mistakes. Expect an update.
