Taking advantage of a break in the livery reveals to show off my personal rides for this year. I'm running with a fictional team, teammate and sponsor that will be included in the carset as extra options, and will be sporting the #1 on the doors after I stole the championship from Shane Van Gisbergen in my offline season last year.

For the liveries I've jumped on the "Home / Away" bandwagon - a separate Home livery for domestic races, and Away for international. The yellow Home livery is tidy, clean, and suits the brand image. The Away livery on the other hand...

The 2022 carset is now officially released over in the downloads section, just in time for Symmons Plains this weekend. To celebrate, here's some snaps of the cars in action from a race I had there last week:

03TAS01.png
Broc Feeney stunned the field with pole position in only his second career start...

03TAS04.png

...but it ended in tears after a huge moment through turn 1 on lap 28 led to a high-speed collision with the barriers.

03TAS02.png
With Feeney out, Waters and Van Gisbergen had a hard-fought battle for the lead...

03TAS07.png
...but Van Gisbergen executed the undercut to perfection during the pit stop phase, and came out on top

Hope everyone enjoys the carset as always!

Some updates for track projects I've got coming in the next couple of months

Townsville is nearly done, just got to do some more work with the AI and environment. Planning a release around the same time as the Supercars race there this year.

Meanwhile (and not strictly Supercars-related), there are big things on the Horizon:

Mexico. Though I probably prefer FH3 to FH5, the Mexico festival opens up a lot more options when it comes to designing the track - plus the colour palette and party atmosphere of the main festival site look great in-game

Based on the "Race Track" in the game? I wish is was the full track, it feels disjointed and incomplete.

But Thats me. Great job!

Yup, based on the race track in-game. I was the same though - I felt the track in-game wasn't quite complete, so took some creative liberties (including moving the stadium across so a section of the track runs though it - inspired by the Mexico F1 GP circuit). This is the layout I went with (and it's anti-clockwise, whereas the track is clockwise in FH5):

It has a much better flow around the final sector - the "public road" section of the track, as well as the main runway, are both very fast and fun to drive

Townsville and the Horizon Festival Circuit are both now released over in the downloads section!!

Up next: another fictional track with a section of road that's a bit... different:

I'm also thinking of making an attempt at the LA Coliseum - the track geometry would be easy enough, it's just building the stadium itself that would be the problem!!! We'll see how that goes over the next few months

Some more progress pics and updates:

Making a head-start on the 2023 Supercars carset with a tribute livery that Cam Waters will run as part of the set. Finally we have a rear wing for Supercars!

Work has started on another track project that some may recognise:

Albert Park is nearing completion as well - I'm a bit short on time at the moment (and the 2023 Supercars set will soon become more of a priority), but I'm hoping to give the track some test runs soon ahead of its release.

I gave LA Colosseum a brief go as well, but it looks like it's not going to happen - I laid out the basic geometry, but the AI can't run properly - not even for a short handful of laps (let alone pit stops). Looks like the problem is a combination of the pit road being on the back stretch, as well as the overall size of the track being too small.

With that said, I've uploaded the WIP track (link below) for anyone who wants to download it for hot-lapping. I'm not going to work on it any further, but if anybody can figure out how to make the AI run properly, feel free to go ahead and use what I've done so far for your own project.

Ooh, Chicago Pier! That is one track I've always wanted in NR2003.
