Stock Car Legends is a revision and evolution of DSR's Grand National 1969-'70 v2.XX mod for rFactor. This mod retains all of the GN69-70 content, but is structured for future expansion of additional years / car sets.

IMPROVEMENTS OVER rF GN69-70 MOD INCLUDE:
  • Modified file names/structure to allow for future car set expansion.
  • Significant updates to vehicle physics and engines.
  • Updated tire files.
  • TrackConfigs1969_70.ini file updated with more potential tracks.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
  • Creating a separate rFactor installation for this mod is highly recommended, to avoid any potential conflicts with other mods.
  • v1.00 was compiled for the purpose of multiplayer use. Therefore, any erratic AI behavior has not been addressed, though it may be in a future release.
  • Driver talent files are not included in this version, due to several changed/missing drivers. These may be included in a future update.

Feel free to report any errors, bugs, or inaccuracies to the Delta Sim Racing team (www.DeltaSimRacing.com).

CREDITS and THANKS:
  • Denis Rioux, for his permission to use the NR2003 GN69ST and GN70SS mods in this conversion.
  • Akajanosi, for his outstanding GN69/70 cockpit improvements and window net removal.
  • David Sabre, Alberto Ibanez, and Historic Simracing Organisation, for tire, suspension, and other modding support.
  • ISI, HistorX mod team, VHR Racing mod team, and DirtWorks Designs mod team, for some tire data.
  • Papyrus (NR200:relievedface:, SimBin (GT Legends), and ISI (rFactor & rFactor2).
FUTURE PLANS:
  • Additional cars including the GN63 cars by Kind D.A. and Bill
  • Additional cars from other mods, as permission allows

ENJOY!
ZiggyM, Trae00, and the rest of Delta Sim Racing

Hey guys I keep trying to sign into the Forums over there but it won't let me in, I've changed my password twice and it still shows it as "wrong password"

Finally downloaded this, cool stuff boys! I even got my car in it! Now I need to find some, if not all the tracks, I have the NSS/FMS track pack, but I'd like the "'70's" look.

Yeh, 70s period-correct ovals are nearly non-existent for rF. Right now we're getting by with more recent versions, hoping to "historicize" some in the future.

I gave Ziggy a link, there are some on there, but you have to look threw 23,000 plus tracks to find them. There is a Daytona '70, not sure if it's the road course or not.

Sounds like that could be the same link I have. And if it's the same Daytona70 I'm thinking of, it is indeed the RC ... we actually run it in our T/A series.

If it's the HFS data base, then it is. I just look threw the 1,000's of tracks and grab what I want. There are some I didn't know were made for or converted to rFactor.

Yeah, that data base keeps me from racing everything I download.

My first full on stock car race in years, full field, just 22 laps, but DAYTONA baby....bad set in the car the tach on the dash was the real numbers but I was looking at the big HUD and blowing my engine in practice...got a DQ in Q so started in the back...rFactor's famous AI lived up to it's reputation so all i had to do is survive, no real racing sadly, but in the end I won!

I was sawing on that wheel the whole way...these things are not Trans Am cars they don't want to do anything quick, just get planed out and go fast...this could be way better but I have to say it looked really good!

I should say that NASCAR Legends was my entry point into Sim Racing, my first race was that 1969 Motor Trend 500 @ Riverside, I fell in love with AJ Foyt's Torino and it grew from there... I never saw Foyt or that Torino in this race, I did pass the car on the way to the track in the garage, so I felt like I got my money's worth...:)

Thanks for giving it a try Bill! Which version of Daytona did you run?

Yes, the AI is still hokey. I know Ziggy's been working on that, hopefully have it improved by the next release.

Definitely not T/A cars. We know these things were tanks, so we wanted them to drive like it.

And one other thing ... the road course tires are probably going to be tweaked for the next release as well, they're quite slippery right now. Was just thinking that, for some reason, you might give them a try on a long-gone Cali RC. ;)
