If it is any help...

"Chevy SS" is the Holden Commodore SS VF. Back in 2004, Holden was building the VY Commodore.

We have a template which has the front end of that in:

Our resident scholar martinrace made this. It is excellent.

You can probably smith this to your heart's content, to get a contemporary 2004 SS.
I was referring to the "Super Speedway" build of the cars that were being used in the 2000's (which had a different shaped nose meant for better drafting), not the "Chevrolet SS/Holden Commodore SS" (both very cool cars, BTW). Thank you though!

I was wondering about that myself, but I haven't played with the mod yet so I wasn't sure what could and could not be done. I remember back in the days of SBR there used to be templates that gave the illusion of a SS body on a standard model, can something be done to that effect to help the realism aspect you are going for?

You've read my mind, Kemosabe (I still have all the superspeedway templates from SBR in my team files, heh).

It'll take a little work to move the headlights up and get them to line up across the two template panels but I think it can be done. The issue is going to lay with the recessed area they built into the upper grill area. I'd obviously need to move the grille up with the headlights - but that recessed notch won't be going anywhere.

My new life's goal is to build a UTE fictional racing set! I need to make a Pontiac G8 version of that Commodore

And now back to our regularly scheduled program.....

A work in progress that I honest to God don't think I have EVER seen anyone attempt...... Jeremy Mayfield from the 1997 Winston Open

I did that car back in June 2014 though it's a different version than the one from the open.

Slipster you have been doing an amazing job lad! Amazing! (Extra points if you know what movie that was unintentionally quoted from)
Really happy to see someone else out there paint up the old NERF car and you did a fantastic job. I'm really enjoying seeing your work.

Nope! I know a lot of random movie quotes but that one is beyond me, lol

Thanks - I only intended this to be a short little 1997 project but I seem to be inexorably digging myself deeper and deeper! I really need to set some criteria for myself and start releasing these in like 10 or 20 car sets so it doesn't take me a year or more to release these cars for download.

The problem is I originally set out to do 2 schemes for each car # from '97. But then I'm looking at the #5 thinking, man - he only had 3 different schemes throughout the year and the 'Spooky' car was SUPER cool.... so I can do 3 cars for him.... Or I'm looking at the #3 thinking, man - all of his schemes are literally just different colors with a logo switched up here and there - stupid easy to just do all 4 of those..... Or I watch the Suzuka race and think, man - I've NEVER seen that car done!

So yeah, the amount of work just kind of snowballs!

This stuff looks amazing! I might have to dig out and polish up those SABCO cars I did.
Thanks Steve! And you're still under no time deadline - Lord knows I keep destroying my own checkpoints lol. You're work that you've shown me so far looked great and I appreciate your help with some of these. Although I might get too itchy and do Mark Martin's Suzuka paint scheme myself, lmao.
