I've been trying to bring the Xfiles of the '03-05 mod to Blender and.... it ain't coming out good. Plus I followed the video for HD Blender Renders and it didn't work as well. The model usually comes out as fully gray even with the X-files + card file inside the folder with the obj so any help would be appreciated.

So I am pretty new to blender, this may be a dumb suggestion, but in the window with the model it sort of looks like you only have the model selected, no textures. In the top right corner of the model window you should see 4 buttons that have symbols that sort of look like bubbles. The one on the left I believe is for wireframe, the next one to the right (which is currently highlighted) I think is model only, the next one should show textures, and the final one should show the world details. Try clicking on of the right two bubbles to show the skin.

Again, I am new to this and going off of memory, so I could be way off, but give it a try

what he said. You have it in model view, not texture view. The ball to the right that looks like it has a checkered pattern will allow you to see the textures

A little look inside of me messing with the Materials. I think this is the right list of textures applied by I don't know which BMP files goes to the 9th circle below

Month long update here: Porting the Chevy '03-05 Model has gone well but the Ford '04 and Dodge '05 Models have gone not well... there's a lot of missing space/black stuff on the cars

If I saw that in 3dsmax I'd look to see if there's more than 1 body model. Sometimes they stack them on top of each other for transparency reasons (so it doesn't look transparent if, for instance, you see through the wheel wells you don't see clear through to the other side.) That or the lights/shading are possibly screwed up? If it happens to be a duplicate body model, try moving it up a couple millimeters (or scale it down a point) so it's separated a bit.

Now I realized that the models look like that when they are on the Eevee engine but on the Cycles engine, they look more complete. So it could be a Eeeve problem or I messed up somewhere while converting the original X files

in the layers options there is the backface culling thing that you must check to not get those black tings
that's what i've managed to know about it

Looks like you are using blender. Watch this video, it will tell you how to fix it. Basically something like what Mick said they are layers that are transparent or partly transparent in carviewer and the game but end up being visible in blender (usually parts of the interior that cross over the outside model of the car).

like this (sorth of)
Wow, great to see my tutorial being linked
That video focused on the cycles render engine, and in order to save render time I didn't show do proper transparent glass. I'll definitely put one more video out to do windows, eevee improvements, animation, etc.

Great to hear that, I personally can't use cycles as my PC doesn't like it.
