So I was goofing around in blender 3.0 and figured out how to paint directly on the model somewhat like 3dcoat. I was wondering if anyone else does this and if so would they know how to copy over an image layer from photoshop to place on the car in it's own layer? That's the one aspect I didn't see.

It would most likely be similar to this process:

I use 3D coat which i can paint decals on my models. Blender's 3D Paint Program is not as advanced but for a free tool it defintiely can help anyone place complex decals on models. I suspect as future version release Blender's paint section will get more and more options akin to professional 3D paint programs like Substance Painter and 3D Coat.

Thanks Mystical. I'll give the video a watch. I just have blender on my work computer and my home PC is too old to run 3dcoat or I would already have it. I just noticed that this was possible in blender and thought it might be a useful tool for more consistent seamless patterns like carbon fiber or placing images in tough areas much like the Timmy Hill Sam Bass tribute car I have been working on.
