Yes I am not very good at making bases it is something I need to get better at. Also what you have made looks great.

How I have tried to paint it is I painted the base black then I painted the back and hood orange while trying to make the design the lines don't look correct where the lines move out in that pattern I cannot get it to look right they look almost rounded. The shape and width also don't look quite right. Also with the color on the back, it is a bit darker and redder than the yellow stripe and when I am painting it looks almost violet red and I cannot find a good way to make it look nice.

What paint program do you use, and do you try to make this using the pen tool.
Here you go, this layer goes right above the base color layer (group), temp size is 2048 x 2048.
