We've met two of the teams in the Lenovo Electric Car Division, let's meet part of the last: Chu Racing Polestar, led by Japan's Satoshi Chikafuji. The 24 year old driver has yet to give consistent results in the class, and seems like he needs to get it together to be in contention to move up. Is he ready for a strong season in this matte black machine, or is it another year of all looks and no substance?

Who doesn't love an underdog? Diego Alves is moving up to the Allianz High Power division this season, and some people are questioning the choice after sub par results in other divisions beforehand. He's proven to be a clean, reliable driver, but is he really that capable of results? The Portuguese driver is looking to surprise this season, along with ScotTeam Racing, a single car Nissan effort in their second year of operations.

31XavierMasse-EC-render.pngThe next driver we're looking at is one of the biggest stories in the series. Paris's Xavier Masse has become the most sought after prospect on the tour, amassing multiple class wins and an Economy Division championship at just the age of 24. As he goes on to defend that title, this will most likely be his last season before moving up to the High Power Division, where he's likely to be fought over by many big teams. Can Masse go back to back and cement himself as a future star?

The leader of the Nissan Performance Team is the most accomplished driver in the field, Germany's Leon Wolff. The 45 year old is still winning races and contending for more championships, thought people question when things will slow down, and he has indicated that retirement may be on the horizon. He seems to be unclear about how far he'll go, but he's got a great chance at the championship before then!

01UlfSamuelsson-TR-render.png

The pride of Scandinavian, Sweden's Ulf Samuelsson is a bit of a veteran of the series at 30 as he begins another season in the tribute class with with the Kaminski Performance team. He's put together decent results and a few class wins, but he seems to have accepted that he's not a top caliber driver, and wants to focus on being a lifer in the class unless things really come together for him. Could he make a run at the tribute class title and put some of the newbies to shame?

Rudolf Hoogkamer is seemingly in the prime of his career at age 31, and the Dutch driver has picked up plenty of race wins but is still looking for his first title. As the leader of his home country's Van Haastrecht Racing, he has high expectations, and his big sponsor has the same. Will he deliver and become a champion this season?

Enzo Lima, a 25 year old driver from Brazil, is making his High Power Division debut this year after some strong seasons in the other divisions. He's racing for Li-Tech Motorsports, a Korean team that's arguably the best of the single car teams. With a notable sponsor and a young driver, is this team going to become a big story for years to come?

23KyleMeyers-EC-render.png

Kyle Meyers is a 32 year old American who couldn't quite make it big at the top level of the World Tour, but has proven to be a competitive and reliable driver in the Economy Division. Currently at the two car Leland Kemp Racing team, he's hoping to bring his red, white, and blue Chrysler to class victories on the world stage once again.

was looking at the Indycar teams....and got a good laugh when I saw the team based in Mabalacat, Philippines....I live very close to there and there would never be a racing team based there. To small with little infrastructure....A team would be based out of Clark, or Angeles City. But most likely Clark as there is actually a road racing track there on the old Air Force Base.

Beautiful cars by the way

Thanks for the feedback, Scott! I'm admittedly not that knowledgeable of the Philippines so I appreciate the information, and I'll definitely keep that in mind if it becomes relevant to something in this project and beyond!

Mammoth Engineering's up and coming two-car stable is led by Germany's Lukas Klein, a series veteran who's proven to be a reliable journeyman. The 36 year old has picked up a couple wins in his time in the High Power Division, but has moreso proven himself as a reliable choice to get things done behind the wheel. Is this what the team needs to elevate to the next level?

29TimotheRivard-EC-render.png

The pride of Quebec, Timothe Rivard is piloting the single car Team Pitchette entry in an all-Canadian combo. The 25 year old is an underdog heading into this season in the Economy Class, but has shown flashes of brilliance on his way up to this point. With a striking gold-foil style livery, the only one of its kind on the tour, will this single car Chrysler team take the next step?

A racer of Cuban descent, racing under their flag, Max Quiñonez is a 24 year old driver for a Sport Serna, a small Columbian team in the tribute division. Both components of the team are true underdogs, near the back of the class, but as one of the youngest drivers and teams on the tour, Max looks like he could be a big story in the coming seasons. Will things go his way?

88ZachSutherland-HP-render.png

The future of MMG Motorsports, the top Volvo program, may lie in Britain's Zach Sutherland, a 25 year old who's already made it to a top team in the High Power Division. With a lot of eyes thinking he could be the next big thing, and a trendy and emerging sponsorship package, Sutherland looks to impress in the 88 machine this year and far beyond.
