A return to the roots of the project, but the very top of the roots for the NAPARL series! Introducing the NAPARL Division 2 Stock Car Championship.
This series is the last step before hitting the big time in Division 1, and features cars nearly identical to the D1 schools for young guns to prove their worth, or for busts to mount a comeback to D1. The schedule is also fairly similar to the D1 schedule, to get drivers acclimatized to larger venues.
The original NAPARL series plan featured four series, and I'm sticking to that with my plan as is. This will be the last of the main NAPARL series, so I can provide a sense of closure to the original idea, but it's not the end of the NAPARL universe, with plans being made for other series in the NAPARL world, but not necessarily under the NAPARL name. I also plan to work on additional NAPARL content with some alternate paint schemes down the line, and possibly number sets if there's interest.
Let's meet three of the top drivers in the series!
Perhaps it's best to start with the biggest independent team in Division 2, Duke Motorsports. One of the three cars of the team belongs to Jonathan Berry, a New Jersey native who looks set to be the next D2 lifer. At 25, and with the independent team, can he get back on the prospect map?
One of the contenders this season is Robbie Benson out of Norm Leonard Motorsports. The subpar D1 team seems to have a future superstar in the pipeline and looks poised to move up next year somewhere no matter what. Can he walk off with a title and bring the smaller team to the promised land?
Last for now is Wendell Pace, the first of three cars at RAV Racing, a team affiliated with RoseJam via investment from multiple parties. The sophomore driver is looking for multiple wins as he hits a contract year, and looks to cement himself as a star in the making. Does he have a chance?
