Has anyone ever made a small utility application for NR2003 that does the well-known text-file tweaks to fix blurry graphics in one click? If not, would anyone have an interest in something like this? Personally I think something like this would be cool.

I'm imagining something that could be a launcher (that launches both the game and utilities of your choice like FreeCamera and CamHack in one click) and a tweaker (with buttons to fix blurry graphics, enable wind sounds, and so on). I am by no means a skilled programmer, but since this is literally just launching apps and editing text files, it would be quite straightforward to create something like this. For instance, I could whip up something simple using Python (e.g. via PyQT) under a super permissive license so you could see the code publicly, modify it as desired, and distribute EXEs freely as you like.

Thoughts?

I have to agree, you don't really need to make graphics tweeks on the fly, and even if you did, it really isn't that hard to do that from the in-game menu.

But here is the thing, if you are interested in doing it, just do it. It will teach you skills you seem to have an interest in learning, and who knows what that knowledge might lead to. Don't worry about how many people will use it. Worry about what it means to you to make it.

Once you've updated the INI with changes manually... why would blurry graphics still be an issue?
Good point. I'm fairly sure I've had the game do its auto-calibration on me once or twice and mess with some of those settings, but it definitely doesn't happen often (if at all to some people).

This is a great attitude. Cheers man! Time permitting, I might just do it. We'll see when that time becomes available though haha

The Bullring already made a graphics tweaker that does the changes for you. I use it all the time, works great!

@The_Tigg will probably remember this little program made shortly after NR2003 was released. There was a guy named John Simmons that hung out at The Pits forum that made a program called D3PlayerPicker that would launch the game with whatever sounds, carsets, or tracks that you chose. His avatar was one that you don't easily forget.

I still use D3Playerpicker all the time, great little utility. Even allows you to choose which .exe you want to use. Track lists has proven invaluable. Thanks for posting john's name. I'd been trying to remember it lately but just couldn't quite come up with it..

Cheers @BillA1947 thanks so much for sharing both these utilities! Only came to the game a couple years ago, so wasn't aware of these. :) Look really cool – will have to try them out.
